This is a great price for a mountain bike tire! I got this one for the rear tire on my Currie electric-assist mountain bike. I wanted a wide tire that would grip in gravel, and support 200 lbs of rider. This does a fine job! I paired this with the
Kenda K850 Aggressive MTB Wire Bead Bicycle Tire, Blackskin, 26-Inch x 1.95-Inch
on the front -- also via Prime so shipping was free. And to make it all work, I got two extra thick Slime tubes
Slime 26" SV Thorn Resistant Thick Smart tube 26 x 1.75-2.125 (Schrader Valve)
.
I was a little concerned at first because the Kenda tires were heavy duty on the tread portion, but the sidewalls seemed thin. However, I counted on the thick tubes to help out with this. Since mounting both tires, I've put the bike through the real test -- gravel and cactus-covered trails in the AZ mountains. They give me grip, both uphill, downhill with both brakes applied in a 2-wheel skid -- and side-to-side.
By the way, when mounting these yourself, a trick taught me by a repair-guy at my local bike shop might help. Get your old tires off, of course. Put just a little air in...

I ride around Portland, OR and near Bend, OR, so this tire gets me through a wide variety of surfaces with great cornering, and hill climbing traction. On looser surfaces I tend to drop down to 55psi, and for harder surfaces I go for 60-65psi. (I run a Kenda Dart on the front, which is also a great tire for the price.)
I've used this tire on a Klein Adroit (hard tail) and currently on my Santa Cruz Heckler (full suspension), and have been very happy with it. I'm 200lbs, and only get to ride about 30 times a year, so I appreciate a tire that is inexpensive, but doesn't leave me wishing for more traction to climb a sandy slope.
The only place I don't really like this tire is on pavement, the lugs are spaced far enough apart that I can feel the drag when I'm cruising along on a leisure ride with my girlfriend, but at 65psi, it's tolerable for a few miles.
Bottom line, it outperforms the more expensive tire that was on my Heckler when I bought it, and I've convinced two friends to switch, and they were amazed with how good it is for the price.

sixdustyfeet_geocachesixdustyfeet_geocache: These tires seem good so far. Installed today and no problems as expected. Width dimensions are a little off as others have stated. We gave them a chance anyway. We measured the tread width at 1.92" instead of 2.10" at 50 psi. Our old tires were 26x1.95 and the tread measured 1.95". We don't claim to be an expert on thread/width measurements, just our observations. We are OK with the width but an accurate description would be nice.
