ReyneReyne: I’m a mountain bike coach, and I used this sleeping bag to camp at all of the SoCal League races in 2022. We’re now in the 2023 season, and I’m using the same sleeping bag I purchased from last year. At Lake Perris in Feb, low was about 35 degrees F. I use this with an R-rated sleeping pad (klymit) along with its R-rated insulated cover. I was comfortable wearing only my base layers and did not perceive the cold. Next race is at Vail Lake where lows are expected to be in the 40s. No doubt this sleeping bag will do its job.

Bill O.: I got two of these - one each for my sons - for backpack camping. They've slept in them several times now, down to freezing temps, and they have stayed very warm. I don't think that I would rely on them if the temps were much below freezing unless you are the thick-blooded type that is fine wearing shorts when it's 10 degrees. This bag is not as lightweight and compact as the ones that cost 3 times as much, but it is every bit as warm. The quality feels good too - I suspect they will last a while. If you are on a budget but don't want the junk that cost less than $100, either buy a high-end sleeping bag used or get this one if you don't mind the extra pound in weight or the extra cubic inches in your backpack.

Chris D: I have the regular size. The bag is superbly comfortable, and well-suited for colder temps. It dipped just below 40 on my overnight, and I had to pull off layers that I was sleeping in. I'm just under 6', and it fit me quite nicely. However, when I first pulled it out of the box, I was surprised at how heavy it felt. It's listed as 2.6 lbs, which is definitely not correct. It's cloesr to 4 lbs. My tent weighs in at 3.7 lbs, and the bag felt the same if not slightly heavier when I was holding each in one hand. It's the kind of bag you want during the early spring and late fall, but not the summer.
