JaT: I'm very happy with this purchase. It was a bit more than I was wanting to pay for a sleeping bag, but I really wanted a down bag and this is pretty much the cheapest one going. I slept in this on a Big Agnes Air Air Core Ultra 4.5r mat, so I already had some good insulation under me for a May weather, but I was very toasty. It wasn't too toasty though, which is important to know. I slept solid for two nights, one of which was fairly cool as the rain had swept in. The hood and collar provide great warmth for the top half, the thick and soft down throughout keeps you comfortable and warm, and the foot box prevents you from feeling restrained at the feet. I'm 5"11 and there was still an inch or two of room at the bottom. The pocket just fits my Galaxy S10 with some wiggling. Smooth zips and a decent pack size meant I had a great trip without worrying about my sleep system at all. Highly recommend!

D.B.:
Okay, so this is my first 'real' sleeping bag I've gotten. Over ther years that I've been camping, I've really only slept in bags from Walmart and while they do okay, it's nothing to brag about. This bag however, at first glance, feel, and being covered by it... wow. The bag looks cool as hell and it's pretty toasty from first impressions (I zipped myself up in the apartment, not outside... yet.) I'm 5'10" 200lbs (think dad bod) and it's fairly roomy. I don't feel constricted and I'm actually able to turn on my side while inside of it which is a huge plus in my opinion. It's light when packed in its sack.
The reason I bought this is because I wanted something I could use in my hammock as a quilt and still have a sleeping bag. It functions well as both.
I've only given it 4 stars for the moment because I haven't truly tested the performance of it quite yet and plan on updating this review with further thoughts once I use it properly.
Now, I dont come across many perfect things in my life and this is not one of them. It has some slight, VERY slight issues that MAY bother others: the zipper tends to be a little annoying when zipped down all the...

Tusse Lago:

C. Howell:
I've used this bag on 3 different nights so far backpacking. While it's not the lightest (the long weighing just under 3 pounds), it's light enough and compressible enough and most importantly warm enough. The coldest I've used it in is 28F and I was warm and cozy from head to toe. The other 2 nights were around the freezing mark as well. Keep in mind, they test the ratings of bags with a test dummy that has thermal tops and bottoms on, socks, a beanie, and on top of a sleeping pad with an r-value of 5.7. If you aren't wearing those things or have a lesser r-value pad, your results will vary. However, that's how I sleep and I was completely toasty and comfortable. I would feel safe taking it down to the 20 degree rating based on my experience.
It fit perfectly in my pack, and the 300 dollars I saved buying this one over one that is a pound lighter was able to be spent on a good pad/pillow set up and a lighter tent.

New update: The zipper fell apart, and I contacted Kelty and sent the bag in for repair (shipping at my expense) and four weeks later I received the bag back (shipped at their expense) totally repaired and good as new. They stand by their warranty and their workmanship. Happy I got this bag.
Edited review here, and old review in its entirety below:
Everything below remains true, HOWEVER the zipper totally exploded. It has a tendency to get snagged, and one side of the zipper teeth was sort of kinked after I managed to work the zipper free from a snag in the middle of the night. When I pulled the zipper up again, it came free from the kinked side, completely - and when I tried to work the zipper down to the base and re-insert it, it totally fell off and there's no conceivable way to get it back on now. I don't know what to do - send it back to Kelty? It's really frustrating.
Old title: Good value for a quality bag, with a couple caveats
For the money, this Kelty Cosmic bag is great. It's lightweight, compresses down to the size of a large honeydew melon (I got a separate compression sack to pack it into) and warm(ish). Don't...

Barnaby D.: The Kelty Cosmic 20 is one of the most affordable sleeping bags you can find that's filled with down insulation.
Although it's not exceptional in any particular aspect, it provides decent comfort and warmth in a package that is small and light enough for some 3-season backpacking.
The Cosmic might still be worth considering if low cost and packability are the most important characteristics for your needs.
