JBJB: Bag does everything it’s supposed to, sturdy and very water resistant. Only reason I gave it a four and not a 5 star was that the end that buckles up the flap is kinda small so when you start compressing your bag the it puffs out from either side of the flap because it’s smaller then the diameter of the whole bag

Allan Evans: Great product , stuffs my NF Blue Kazoo regular. However, I think it could have compression straps for the circumference rather than just the length.

M: Before I write my reviews, I typically use the product I purchased for an extended period of time before commenting on the function for which it was made. First, I'd like to say that I travel a lot for various purposes. When I travel, I like to have a durable and functional number of things with me for when the occasion arises. That being said, price still plays a huge factor in my decision making process, but I never hesitate to pay a bit more for something more durable. As you may have assumed, I am extremely rough with my stuff because in fast-moving situations, you have no time to be gentle with your belongings. It needs to be reliable.
I bought this compression stuff sack in April of 2016. I bought it for the purpose of using it as my laundry bag on a 3-week mountain expedition. I was particularly attracted to this because of it's size (I bought the juniper green, size large), and the fact that it was compressible. If you do any sort of hiking or explorations, you'll realize that weight and the amount of stuff you carry with you is extremely important. You are constantly limited by the amount of space you have and how much you can take with you. Having a compressible...

Barnacle Bill The Sailor: I bought three of these Kelty compression sacks, two medium and one large.
The two Medium bags (Rhubarb) were bought to hold Kelty Cosmic 20 Long down sleeping bags. The sleeping bags weigh 2lbs 13 oz and measure 8" X 14" in the stuff sack they come in . That's about 703 cu in. With this compression sack they shrink down to 8" X 10" or about 503 cu in. That's a 29% reduction in volume. Not bad. And I threw a self inflating pillow and a microfiber sleeping bag liner in with each sleeping bag. So, the 29% reduction in volume is even more impressive.
The Large bag (Juniper) was bought to hold a Kelty Outfitter Pro 3 person tent. I got the tent, fly, and footprint in the compression sack with no problem. This is an almost 8 lb tent with 46 sq ft of floorspace. And I added the footprint. The tent packs down nice and tight but the original tent bag doesn't lend it self to measurement. It's just a big loose sack. So I can't give you before and after volume numbers for the tent. But the compression sack allows you to just stuff everything in rather than trying to fold it neatly and roll it up. The pole and stakes will not fit in the compression sack so I carry them...

David Tierney: This review is for the EXTRA LARGE (11" x 22") compression sack.
I admit it, I'm fairly cheap. Buying this stuff sack was an effort to salvage a sleeping bag purchase I had made years ago before I had done any research or had a desire to do anything more than car camping. Now, I've done the research, and now I backpack.
Prior to purchasing this compression sack, I've strapped my Kelty Mistral 20 to the top of a backpack too small for any serious outings (~43L), making it very visible and prompting a fellow backpacker to comment, "that's the largest sleeping bag I've ever seen!" However, I've recently purchased a larger (65L) pack that fits the Mistral inside, but without any room for much else. So instead of buying a bag that is ACTUALLY compressible, I though I would save money and just get a compression sack.
The Mistral does compress...sort of. Enough to fit it in the pack, anyway. But it still sucks up an enormous amount of room. I know this sounds like a review of the Mistral, but I provide all this as context for what I think of the Kelty Compression sack.
Being cheap, I purchased the Kelty Compression sack because it was the cheapest (that I...

Koumby: Pretty good product, fabric and seams feel sturdy. I have used it a few times and it can withstand a good compression without seams feeling flimsy. Nice that it folds and clips into a little pouch.
Downside : What I don't like about this product is the size of the lid, which is way too small compared to the bag diameter, so when compressing the stuffsack it kind of pops out of both sides of the lid, so the compression is not so great in this way... that's why I give it 3 stars instead 5 because the rest of the bag is great but since its a crompression bag it's kind of a big design flaw right there...
