Wonderlust: Kelly-Ann Maddox is definitely a character. If you, as the viewer, like being referred to as a 'poptart' or 'sugarcake' you might want to give her YouTube channel a go. Her book picks up that chatty communication style and I guess it with either resonate with you or put you off. I didn't find the writing style a problem myself and saw it as rather accessible. IMHO, that is the book's best attribute.

While watching various "best beginner witchcraft book recommendation" videos I came across a reference to this book in a viewer comment as a good all-round book if you could only afford one (not mentioned in the video itself). While the book does, in a way, cover all the bases, it feels very superficial in its "if you want to you can, if you don't want to, you don't have to" approach. The problem isn't necessarily with that approach per se but with the complete lack of detail to help you make such a decision. There are books that pull this off much more successfully that give you a thorough grounding in the knowledge which, in turn, empowers you to make an informed choice about how you want to create your unique (and intuitive) path. Charles L. Atkins: What I expected was a typical witchy book filled with how-tos for the beginner. What I got instead was a book that gave an option to people (like me) who aren't necessarily all that keen on doing things "the traditional" way. You won't find any how-tos or explanations on how to do spellwork or deep dives into traditions and histories. Instead the book encourages you to great effect to do your own thing. It doesn't push or preach to head in one direction or another, instead it asks questions that anyone should be asking themselves when they get started. What are you into? What resonates and what doesn't? What are you hoping to get out of this? Where do your ethics and morality lie? It politely informs you of options in an easy to read, informal way. Reading this book first will make reading any book that follows feel a lot better, removing a lot of pressure that often comes from trying to "squeeze a square peg into a round hole". I'd rank this as a must read.

Leroy AdamsLeroy Adams: This special book is informative on a variety of subjects relating to magical workings, and spiritual practices. I was especially impressed by the section on magickal ethics, and how the author discussed a few left hand path things from a neutral perspective. The book is chatty, friendly, and informative, without being coddling or condescending. It’s a book that would have been invaluable for me when first starting out because the author informs you on the basics of magick, in a very down to earth, easy to understand voice. The book is also filled with prompts and questions throughout that really give you food for thought, which I found myself thinking back on even after putting the book down.

The topics touched on are truly numerous and you can sense how much care and research went into this creation. There’s entries on sigil work, art magick, working with spirits and entities, shadow work, and even things linking back to chaos magick and things like automatic writing and saint work. Anonymous: As a long time follower of Kelly-Ann I was extremely excited to see her book released. It came on the day of release and was in good condition!
The book looks absolutely beautiful so a huge well done to the illustrator.

The book in its self is yes suited to a beginner of the craft , however it is definitely unlike any other beginner book. This makes it also perfect for a seasoned witch too.
It is jam packed full of journal prompts and things for you to try out and do yourself which is amazing.
The book gave me so many new ideas and inspiration and I literally feel so excited for my craft again.
I have been on this path for quite a long time now and this is the book I needed to give me that spark back.
I am back in a witchy mindset and wanting to get creative and enjoy my craft again.
It inspires you to question things and make things your own - this is a really lovely reminder to everyone that this path is ours and ours alone.

KateHenderson: Loved this! I have read a lot of witchy books over the last few years, but I have never read anything like this. It's so original. I take a witchy class monthly, and I read loads about the history of witchcraft and wicca and magick. I love it, and definitely feel connected to the craft. I adore the history of it (i'm a history nerd) but I do sometimes question some of the rituals and beliefs. This book actively encourages you to question everything and put your own spin on it. It makes you feel like you can do things your own way. I liked that. It is true to the origins, but also encouraging with doing something new and unique to you.

One of the things I liked the most about this book was the journal prompts. I love the idea of journalling, but I just have never got into it, or I struggle to know where to start. The prompts at the end of each chapter are just so inspiring, and would be great to start my journalling journey.

The only reason I didn't give this book the full 5* was just the way the book was laid out. It was very text heavy and I think it would have benefitted from some illustrations or diagrams. But that's just my own personal preference.
