Knikki516Knikki516: I've graduated my feral garden kitty from a plastic bin to something more aesthetically pleasing and roomier as she might be pregnant. It took me a little longer to put it together by myself because I was lining it with installation as I went. But I managed and was proud of myself when I completed it. Several reviewers mentioned the cat house isn't weatherproof and my deck is open to the elements. I stained it the color of my deck (about 3-4 coats) and to avoid leaks I place a plastic tarp on the opening. We've gotten record-breaking rain the past few weeks and the inside is still bone dry. I also placed straw and a self-warming bed on the first floor so everyone is cozy. Noir (the cat) is still hesitant to go in the house for to long (just like the plastic bin). I feed her on the porch of her house and she will go in when I put snacks inside there or will take a quick 'cat nap" when waiting for her breakfast. We shall see as the winter season approaches. So far I like it much better than what I had there. My only gripe is the cost of shipping - as a prime member it should have been free and I probably would not have purchased if I didn't have a gift...

Tara: We got this for my daughters outdoor cats and we love it! It did initially have a strong odor but after a few days that went away. We have it under a covered porch so it is holding up well. If it was completely open to the elements I could see that it may not last a long time.

E. Stouch: The Kit came shipped very quickly. Unfortunetly it did come with some damage from shipping. The one side pannel did have a crack in the wood from the box being miss handled. Note this did not effect me putting the unit together. had no issues. Have had this for about one month. My Local cats have already started using this house. So cute to see the cats on the porch. I did add some cheap LED Strip light to the porch, only so I can look out the window and make sure a muskrat is not using the home.
I did add a heated pad inside for those cold days and nights. we had a few days at below zero.

Overall the assembly was easy, and even tho its pine wood it is very sturdy and well built. Love the asfault roof.

i would totally recommend this tp anyone that is looking to provide good safe place for our CAT friends.

The house fairly easy to put together. It’s not the sturdiest but it’s decent for the price. It’s a great option for an outside cat!
