Movin' southMovin' south: I'm a mid-70s woman, not particularly mechanically-inclined, and I put this together easily (after finding an 18 YO hunk to cart into the house...HEAVY!) Both cats- OSH - like it, and it's unusual for them to agree on anything. I have it in a sheltered spot in our screened-in porch (NOT recommended for outdoor use, but the last non-recommended-for-outdoor-use cat tree lasted 6 years, so...) This thing is sturdy, and a great price. Absolutely no complaints --except the cats could care less about the pompoms.

Carolina Print and Stitch: UPDATE ON REVIEW!!! Figured out the problem I was having which I still have my original view below. It took me walking away several times then coming back with a power drill and screws to make sure I could get the upper and lower pieces to stay together. I completely missed a hole that was very well hidden in all the fluff. Also, after really looking at all the pieces I had put together, I realized if I switched the double threaded long screws on the second half to the opposite sides, the pieces fit better allowing me to put the top cubby on as it should have been. Everything is now totally secure and the foster kittens are crazy about it! I would buy this again.

As others have stated, halfway way through and had to stop, one freaking screw is not long enough to go through two pieces that require it. If it doesn't have that screw then the whole top portion, ledges and all will come loose!!!

NKL: The cat tower was easy to put together, there was no missing hardware, and it is very sturdy for four large cats, ranging from 16 pounds to 22 pounds. The cats took to it immediately, there was no odor to repel them, as there is with some new cat items. We did not use the round lower room, as it is too small for any of the cats, but the added space is better. Am also pleased that the cushioned platforms are large enough to accommodate a large cat. Would highly recommend this product to multiple cat families, and especially large cats. Also, was happy that it came earlier than expected, and was well packed, so nothing was distorted or broken. It is placed in front of patio sliding doors, so there is no way to support it to the wall, but it is very sturdy and does not even wobble when the 22 pound male leaps on it. Very pleased.

Dasmoot: Update after 4 years: This cat tree is only just starting to show its age after introducing two additional cats to the household a year ago. We're now replacing it with a new, senior-cat-friendly tree from the same brand, but this one would otherwise still be good for another couple of years. I'm really quite pleasantly surprised at the quality of this brand.

Original review: I bought this thing more than 2 years ago for a very energetic young cat. The hanging balls are mostly useless and tear off (and tear apart) almost immediately, and the front (detachable) scratching panel fell apart last year due to intense (over-)use. But other than those two minor gripes, the remainder of the cat tree still looks literally practically new. My cat still loves it and uses it daily, and it hasn't become an eyesore like a lot of scratching posts do after a few months. Well worth the money.

Jennifer: This scratch castle is absolutely phenomenal. My cats love it! My boy is very big and I was excited because other people with big cats said I thought it was navigated easily. For the first week it was a little hard for him to figure out his confidence on some of the narrow where spots as he lacks confidence and doesn't believe in himself all the time, now he navigates it like a pro! It has changed their lives for the better! It is so sturdy and there are so many areas for them to play and explore and chase each other. I cut out a square of fabric on the largest cubbyhole opposite the entrance. This makes it so that they can go in and look out the window and it also gives someone a route of escape if their sibling is chasing them so they don't get trapped. I cut a few smaller holes in the bottom cubby hole as well. Highly highly recommended. Just watch the underside edge of some of the platforms they are very sharp if you nick it the wrong way. And the reviewer who said he got it done in 45 minutes, no way in heck unless he had help or works with the speed of the Flash! 2 hrs. min. And definitely wear gloves because your hands will get raw from all the twisting with the sisal. And...

NoumNoum: J’ai été surprise du résultat final, c’était très facile à monter et pour être certaine qu’il n’y aurait pas d’accident je l’ai secoué très fort dans tous les sens pour voir ce que ça ferait. Résultat, l’arbre a à peine bougé! Je suis très contente de mon achat.

Il y a une des petites maison qui a quelque chose de rugueux qui a coller dans le fond, je crois que c’est de la colle, mais avec un petit coussin ça ne paraît plus.

L’autre petit hic qui m’a fait enlever une étoile est qu’il est écrit dans le titre qu’il est pour gros chats. Bien que le premier étage soit haut, j’ai un chat plus gros qui n’apparaît pas sur la photo car il n’est pas à l’aise de bouger d’un étage à l’autre. L’espacement pour se retourner est trop petit pour lui donc il a de la difficulté à se retourner pour grimper plus haut. Ce chat n’est pas du tout obèse il est juste grand, c’est donc peut-être un petit détail à considérer pour ceux qui ont des animaux semblables.

Côté plus positif, les coussins sont vraiment moelleux et on ne sent pas du tout la base. Mes deux chattes l’adorent! Elles ont chacune une maison...

Natasha GallantNatasha Gallant: This one is perfect, for a small cat as much as a 20 pound cat. As a big cat, he fits in both houses, can easily reach the top and has enough place to laydown on the top platforms. Pretty sure he won't be able to tip it as it's pretty sturdy. The little houses are not fluffy like the beds on top, but all I did was add a soft cat blanket and he sleeps there everynight!

Amber A.: This has been a fantastic investment. Our cats are 5 yrs old now and quite wild and destructive. So destructive. This cat post has spared my home their relentless damage. They love it and never had one before. They are all over it all day and night and its reduced how much they scratch the walls in our home by like 90%. It's excellent quality and they LOVE the material. I was worried the material was going to be cheap and not hold up but i was pleasantly surprised that it seems like it's going to outlive them possibly! It looks nice too even though I'm not into decorating i didn't want it to be an eyesore.
