mtncrafters: My dog was my husband's pup who passed away last year. He is a high energy willful dog that I have trouble handling. He loves to ride in the car but I have not been taking him with me for fear of him causing an accident with his excitement moving about in the car. The joy on his face when I let him into his new car quarters was priceless. I feel safer taking him with me on errands, he is loving his car rides, and all for less than $50 and a 20 minute install. Well worth it.

kvetch: I have two dogs, one of which has a tendency to want to jump into the front seat with me when we're on the road. I do have a seat belt harness, but it is a pain to put on, so this is an alternative.
I would say this--in a modern vehicle with a space between the front seats for a console, there is still the possibility for a determined pooch to wiggle its way into the front. In my case, though, I have one of those "hammock"-like things that attach to the headrests on the front and back seats, and prevent dogs from falling onto the floor behind the front seats. That works very well at blocking my dogs from going under the barrier.
One other thing, too. Although my two front seats are set at slightly different distances from the dashboard, the pet barrier has enough flexibility to be able to cover the space around the seats, above, in between, and to the sides, quite well. We went on a 100+ mile trip, and I was quite satisfied with its performance.

Amazon Customer: Nothing fancy but it does the job it needs to. We have two large dogs and a CR-V. We slid the side panels out to fill in the gap at the edges - velcroed on the unit - and the dogs can't get through. No more howling and panting in our ears as we drive to the dog park.

Kelly A. Jones: I have a 5 year old Shepherd/Husky so need to keep him in the area behind the back seats. I received the package on time and in good shape. Installing it was a little cumbersome since there's 3 free-moving pieces to try to measure out and attach and I wasn't able to do that after the center piece was installed due to the headrest being in the way so had to take out/assemble/put in/take out/adjust/put in, etc. That being said, I think having the option to fit it to your specific car is a plus. The anchors that hold the main center gate piece to the headrest come with two hook length options which was handy and the shorter hooks worked in my car. The anchors have the knob you use to tighten it to secure the center piece to the headrest however when it gets to a certain point, the knob locks and you can't tighten it further. I ended up popping the cap ends off and using a wrench to secure it completely. Overall, it's tightly in there and there doesn't appear to be any gaps my fur beast could wriggle through so it'll do what I want it to do. I'm good with the product and would suggest this to someone looking for a pup gate.

Shane Amos: Not a great fit on my Ford Explorer, leaves large gaps at the sides and my dog can get her head through

Jane Smith: So when I got this package it came in a big box with instructions and different pieces. The metal parts came in 3 pieces.. 1 large and 2 smaller side ones. To hold the barrier up there were a set of hooks. You can choose to use the smaller, shorter hooks or the longer/larger hooks. For my car (2018 Nissan Rogue SV) the smaller hooks were too short to reach to hook onto the back seat bars (on the headrest when you adjust the headrest). The longer ones were TOO long and also did not work. Ok... BUT the metal pieces were long/wide and tall enough to actually create a barrier for my dogs (bloodhound and Labrador). I just needed to find a way to hold the thing up. So... after some DIY.. I went to buy some thicker ribbon at Walmart ($2 for a roll) and I bought 2 rolls (one for each headrest). Then I kept wrapping the ribbon around the headrests of the back seats and the metal barrier. SO when I was one I had one headrest wrapped with ribbon to the metal barrier, left the middle headrest alone, and then the other headrest I did the same thing. Did it work? YES!!! When it is securely wrapped the dogs cannot get through. BUT... the ribbon sometimes gets loose (my dogs like to sometimes paw...
