C. Wese: We use this with our Pet Safe litter box which rakes the litter a few minutes after the cats use it. We have 2 girl cats who are 2 years old. This works well as long as you are aware when it needs to be changed. For us, it is about 40 uses and it starts to smell, so we change it right around once a week. It is pricey but I don't have to scoop the litter. The only downside is the price but for us, it is worth the convenience.

Kimber: I like that I don’t have to scoop, and with one cat it was fine. It says that you should change it twice a month for two cats. I have a 2yo cat and 6m kitten I’m not even at 2 weeks yet and it smells so bad. And It’s a lot of waste and pretty expensive for not having to scoop litter.

Lumlum256: Love this product and have been using for the last 5 years. Have had to replace the main body several times, not realising that PetSafe do a 3 year warranty. My bad.

BUT and this is a big one in my opinion, the cost has spiralled and has now increased by 50% for the triple pack and over doubled for the singular packs - why?

This has now made this a luxury item in the current cost of living crisis and I am having to reconsider using this and looking at other options.

If anyone has any great ideas on how to use this and keep the cost down then I am all ears.

I have tried the reusable tray and it isn't as efficient and you obviously have to empty and clean it which was one of the most convenient aspects of the replacement trays.

PLEASE Petsafe look at the cost of these and how realistic it is for the everyday Joe to be able to afford it!

MiraGirl: I have had cats all my life and have always dealt with disgusting, stinky litter pans. This is the best product ever invented. I purchased this automatic pan over a year ago and it has worked perfectly!! I order the disposable litter trays and they make cleaning the cat pan so easy! My litter pan doesn't smell anymore! I was purchasing boxes and/or jugs of "light" clumping litter almost every week any it was expensive, time-consuming and bad for the environment! Now I just change the card-board tray approximately one a month and it is so much cleaner and easier! The automatic litter tray has a "counter" on it to tell you how many times your cat/cats have used the litter pan. It also comes with an app for your phone so that you can keep track of the count or you can press the button and ask the machine to "rake" the pan once more. (I have an older cat that has recently started having the occasional bowel movements that would seriously stink out the entire house!!! Ughhh!) It comes in handy when you want to have the machine "rake" the litter sooner than the usual time you have set. Mine is set to rake the litter 15 minutes after the cat leaves the pan...on the rare occasion, I need...
