KastKing Resolute Fishing Rods: Spinning and Casting Options for the Serious Angler

Maxbeard: It's lightweight but durable, and didn't give any problems during my last saltwater fishing trip. I got great casting distance. It's got a fast tip and plenty of backbone for those large redfish. The guides are on the small side, so if you tie a fluorocarbon leader to your braid keep the knots small with no tag ends sticking out, as they will hang on the cast. All in all a great rod.

Curtis: I've got two sizes of this rod, the 5'0 UL and the 7'6" MF. The smaller rod is paired with the UL Zephyr and I've got a valiant eagle 1000 paired with the larger one for a bass setup. Can't beat the price and the eyelet design actually works to help make a smoother cast.

TRAVIS NIXATRAVIS NIXA: Had this rod for 2.5 years now and has worked great. My only gripe is that the rubber on the grip is now flaking off. I’ve gotten a lot of use out of the pole so this may be normal wear; however, if the rubber was a bit thicker I think it could have lasted much longer.

MichBritt: Boat poor, if you own one you know, I didn't have the budget to outfit my tackle in the equipment I really wanted. I started looking for options. I tried some other <$100 rods, big name USA brands, but was disappointed in the performance and quality. I decided to give KastKing a shot because of the price point. My first was a Pedigree II, which I highly recommend. I decided to try the Resolute in the MH 6'6" 2 piece spinning. My use is jigging for walleye in the Detroit River and surrounding water. It gets the job done.
-Great Value
-Durable, handles snags other rods would snap under
-Plays large fish nicely, good tension through the rod, a and well positioned eyes
-Sensitive enough for tapping the bottom with with 3/4 and 1 oz jigs and detecting bite
-A little softer than I expected for a MH though. I expected a little more stiffness. (I also have a Medium, and the MH is better but not significantly stiffer).
-Good reel seat, probably the best in the price point
-Horrible hook keeper placement at the very bottom of the handle. What were they thinking? It may be fine for single hooked lures, but not for baits with multiple trebles or jigs with stinger...

RandomNerdGuy: I love this rod. It's just a good rod. A bit pricey for my usual budget, but I'm glad I bought this. The length is perfect for most of my needs, it feels good whether I'm casting tiny beetle spins or weightless 4" senkos, or whether i'm chunking heavy popping cork rigs with multiple jig heads and shrimp, etc. It is not a cat fishing rod, not designed for chunking 4oz of weight at full power, but it can still cast fairly heavy things a moderate distance when using a little sense in handling the rod.

It is very light and comfy in hand, very agile for the length, and very nice to cast. It has a great action for all-around fishing needs, especially for bass and smaller saltwater fish. It won't be the best for landing 50-lb catfish every day, but you stand a fair chance of doing it a few times without hurting the rod if you're careful.

I particularly like using this rod with artificial lures. Beetle spins, DOA shrimp, spinnerbaits, top water frogs, Texas rigs, and jigs are all easier to work when I use them with this rod. But other bait rigs also work very well with this.
