The Kasa Smart 3 Way Switch HS210 KIT is the best electrical light switch on the market, boasting top-notch build quality, a wide range of colors, and easy connectivity. Installation is a breeze, thanks to the included neutral wiring and standard wall plate. Voice control is available through Alexa and Google Home, allowing you to monitor and control your lights from anywhere. Furthermore, an in-built phone app allows you to control the device from any location. All of this, with no hub required and UL certification, makes the Kasa Smart 3 Way Switch HS210 KIT a must-have for any home.karen: My house was built in 2017, so I assumed all of my switches had neutral wires. It turns out that one of my stairway 3-way switches did not have a neutral wire. With only one location having a neutral wire the switches would not connect to the internet. Lazy DR Horton workmanship leaves me no choice but to abandon the use of a switch in my stairway, it would require the opening of my sheetrock to add a neutral wire and it’s not worth doing that. I have many other Kasa wall switches and plugs, all work perfectly with my Alexa. Unfortunately, I cannot use a 3-way, not because of the TP-link product, but due to shoddy DR Horton electrical wiring.

THe612: I bought a whole set of Kasa switches and plugs to equip an entire 1500sq ft house with. These wire up fairly easily if you know what you're doing (i.e. make sure you have that all important neutral wire) and they program into the system quickly and easily on the app. We are using Google Assistant and also Amazon Alexa, and they work fairly seamlessly with either. I like the wall plate also, though it would be nice if there were 2 and 3 gang plates in the same snap-in style as the 1-gang version that came with these - I had to go with another plate, which worked fine but didn't quite match the 1-gang ones that came with these units.

Beck: The physical switch has a nice sensation, and response time is fast. Do note that the switch state changes when the switch moves back UP after being depressed, as opposed to when first depressed, so there's a slight delay compared to dumb switches. Smart home integrations work well.
The only issue with this switch is the physical size of the switch and the placement of terminals (on the side) means that when installed in a standard box, there is almost no clearance between the side of the box and the terminal screw. The distance is so small that current will VERY EASILY arc across the gap, especially when turning the switch on. I observed the arcing several times, you should wrap the device with electrical tape after installing terminals. I don't consider this a proper solution as I've never had to do this with any dumb switch or with smart switches that are connected via wires or terminals on the back.

Paxton Parker: I've used many of the Kasa products at this point and have been extremely satisfied. However, these switches (and their other smart switches) do present a problem when using them in anything other than a Single Gang setup. The switches come with a screw-less face plate, however, if you want to install a 2-Gang or more face plate the integrated plate mount isn't removable and will cause for the plate to stand off of the wall. This becomes even more of an issue if you are using an Old-Work box and don't have a smart switch in all of the positions on the box.
Some adjustment is required to make this product work with other face plates. If you are using an new-work box you could potentially recess the device in the sheet rock slightly. Alternatively, you could grind down the back of a 2-Gang cover plate to allow for the switch itself to fit further into the place.
Ultimately, it would have been nice if the integrated screw-less face plate mount was removable like it is on their smart outlets.

ChristineChristine: I've given up on my idea of replacing my entire home's switches with Lutron since Kasa is such a good value. The Kasa switches are reliable and the little circle glow they have in the dark is very sleek looking.
This 3 way switch is great. Maybe it's common sense to others but not me... but a single one of these switches can control a 3 way so you don't have to replace both sides. I was able to replace the "main" side of the 3 way and it works perfectly.
Smart Home integration is really good. It links up to pretty much every platform and I am able to run automations based on the on / off state of the light if I wanted to.

Wayne: The switches themselves are easy to work with. They have one terminal for either line or load, two for travelers, and a green and a white wire. What's nice about that is that you need to change only one switch if you have a pair of three way switches, and it doesn't matter which one.
In my case, it was particularly helpful since I have a pair of switches in a two gang box, each controlling a different light. In one case, it's connected to the power and two travelers. In the other case, it's connected to a fixture and two travelers. I was able to replace them both in the same location, and leave the switches alone at the other ends of both pairs.
With other brands, I'd either have to replace switches at both ends, or replace a single switch, but where the power comes in. That would have meant replacing one of the two switches in the box where I changed both, and changing one of two switches in a box at the other end. It's awkward when the old switches don't use a decora plate.
The switches are easy enough to install and I didn't need to look at instructions. I just followed the app, and as long as you know which wire is which, it's not a big deal. But the...

gz:
This smart switch comes with two sets of switches. Each set includes two wire nuts, two mounting screws, snap-on face plate, wire labeling stickers, and the switch itself.
Install is relatively straightforward. I was able to install these in a 3 way dimmer switch configuration and a 3 way configuration. For both, I made sure to install the smart switch at the switch with the hot wire from the main home circuit, rather than any hot wires coming from other switches in the setup. If you install in any of the switches after this first switch then I believe it won't work. Only one switch is needed - the other switches can stay dumb. This also works for a single pole switch (just wire one of the travellers).
For the 3 way dimmer, the other switch is the dumb dimmer switch. It works fine after the install. For the 4 way switch, the intermediate switch is the four way and the last switch is another 3 way switch. I also didn't touch these and they worked fine. To find which switch is the first switch, I voltage tested the common wire on the switch (usually has a black screw, bottom right side of the switch when facing it) while operating the switches. The common wire...

CanadianGuyCanadianGuy: I had never taken apart a 3-way light switch before, and it wasn’t immediately clear what was going on in the box. Once I figured it out everything works perfectly, and I am using each one in two separate rooms rather than installing both of them for the same light. All functionality works perfectly, both manually and with the Kasa app, for both lights when the switches are installed on seperate circuits.
In my photo, one black cable was hot (the line) and that’s connected to the black screw labelled line/load. The other black and the red are the travellers. On my other circuit the travellers were red and white. Some tips...
1) Install both to control the same lighy only if having matching switches is important. They look very similar to the switches I already had, so this wasn’t important for me at all. You absolutely only need to use one smart switch per circuit.
2) Power only goes to one light switch. I installed them on the switch that had a power coming to it.
3) You can find which one has power (is hot) by disconnecting all cables from both switches, and use a multimeter to test each cable. Only one, on one side, will be hot. It’s best to...
