I got this for my husband's mobile cart. Since his cart folds, I needed a folding basket so it would fit in the trunk. Beware of putting it on a child's bike, as the spring is very tight and it springs out quite rapidly. The first time I opened it, it hurt my hand. Not badly, but I can imagine it could injure a child as there's no time to move out of the way.
I can't speak to the mounting as the mounting parts weren't made for the way the scooter was built so modifications were made to mount it.
It is very sturdy and I am very pleased with its construction and how flat it folds. Once I was aware of how it opened I find that feature quite satisfying, as well.

No instructions there was an extra "L" bar not sure what it was for. My handle bars are thinner than the tightest you can tighten it but it stayed stable on the bumpy roads.

I bought this for myself to be able to attach to my mountain bike. It works great, and is really easy to install. It comes with everything you need and came nicely packaged. It moves just a little bit while riding, if it’s empty. However, it’s on the bike sturdy and can carry lots of things. LOVE THIS!

Second gripe is there are no instructions and the item is spring loaded. I was figuring it out and being careful but it still sprung quickly and hurt my finger.
The only reason this is not a terrible review is that the product is basically sound and it was the cheapest so I was not surprised that the product was perfect. I am using it to keep my phone and remotes near to hand on my exercise bike and it is fine for that.
