FaithfullyM: I just repurchased to replace the one he had for a few years in our American Standard toilet. Eventually the plastic seal with wear down from the chlorine tablets. I use pool tablets
(break them with a hammer in the package) and put 1-2 pieces in the device ( a little stronger then the over priced tablets from Kaboom that don’t last as long.

This device helps with our very hard water (lime scale) and does cut down on cleaning.
Note: you do have to start with a clean toilet!!!
You will also need to maintain my using your toilet brush at least once a month ( depends on your water)
I was cleaning weekly to make sure the brown Limescale wasn’t building up on the bottom and I also use 75% proof/concrete cleaning vinegar! It’s Different than vinegar you use to cook with and more expensive!

Overall this is a good product to help cut down on cleaning/scrubbing.

KtranKtran: I bought this as a test to see if it would work with my newer American Standard dual flush toilets. The system with the following: 1) one purple system device, 2) 2 pouches (each pouch contains 2 tablets) 3) 2 clear hoses.

I initially tried to install it on the first dual flush toilet (picture 1) As you can see in the first picture, there is no room to properly hang the device. There is not enough room between the back of the tank and the blue/white dual push button to hang the Kaboom device. Second, the opening on the clear hose hose that came with the Kaboom is pretty small, and would not fit over the valve of the blue capped water intake.

In the second picture, this is another American Standard dual flush toilet (different model from the first picture. Although there was sufficient room to hang the Kaboom system on the back of the tank, I once again had difficulty getting the Kaboom clear hose to fit over either of the valves at end of the white hose in picture number two. The valves on the American Standard toilets are much wider than the opening of the Kaboom clear hose. I guess it would've been possible to expand the clear colored hose first, and then try to...

Eric D.: For me, this product has worked perfectly! But, I read and followed the instructions. You cannot just throw the tablets into the tank. Also, as some have indicated, the bromine smell was very strong. It was the same in our small bathroom. So instead of loading the dispenser with 2 tablets, I only use 1. Problem solved. Finally, this product will only maintain the cleanliness of your toilet. Start with a very clean toilet, and it stay that way. Start with a dirty toilet, and it will stay that way as well!
