Varvara Tokareva: The book is just wonderful! I think I couldn't find a better guide to Kabbalah. Being interested for years, it seemed so complicated to figure out on your own how everything works. But this book is game-changing. The only thing I would dare to suggest to those who are interested in practicing is to follow Israel Regardie's recommendation and introduce the Rose and Cross exercise after the 1st month. And maybe to put it in Neophyte's chapter in this book's next edition? It makes the life of a Neophyte waaaay more tolerable!

Sweney: This is a textbook of Kabbalah (or Qabala) and its use in "the great work of self-transformation", specifically the Golden Dawn system of magick. It is a complete course, going through all the grades, from Neophyte to Adept, and includes Enochian magick. Well-written and informative. Might be a bit simplistic, but sometimes that is what you need! Great value for money.

Mac Tíre Aonair.: The very first proper serious book I've ever found in this area of research and study. It is brilliant and extremely concise in details and warnings polite ones that are basically saying "don't screw it up" "do not blame us for your incompetence" which is fair. I must admit that it is too advanced for me but the best part is that it is basically a textbook with an educational system in "units" to help students and the adept people to be the best they can be. A way of life a spiritual life and a faith based on self transformation that has been removed from the mainstream "Abrahamic religions" for one reason or another. We are told that it is a sin. Yet it is not a sin to use free will to do something that self transforms you personally into either a good person or evil as that lies within the human heart and not a book like this one. Truly amazing achievement author author!!

PliSsKen: I can't say I really like this book, although it's generally quite good, but I wouldn't recommend it particularly. I am somewhat neutral about it. So that's where my 3 star rating comes from. It's 'ok' as a whole. Was recommended to me by a friend who still rates it. So this is another Golden Dawn tuition book, and as an overall summary and guideline, it seems quite good. It's not a complete course. That would suggest that it contained everything you needed to know, which obviously is not the case, as you need to buy one of the thick Regardie Golden Dawn books as well as a book on Hermetic Qabalah, and others.

I can't really comment on all aspects of the core GD tuition here, but one thing I did notice was that the author's version of the LBRP, specifically the Kabbalistic Cross, contains what would be for most people a lengthy visualisation exercise, imagining yourself expanding in size from where you are standing to becoming the size of the complete universe, whatever that is. This is performed twice in the LBRP, at the start of each Kabbalistic Cross. I think it's a good meditation exercise, but it's too lengthy to perform each time if you want to do any justice to it....

Journey: I am over halfway through this book (Currently in Practicus), and have already decided to use the exercises within as tools to facilitate Self Actualization. So you may wonder why I gave the book only 3 stars? And so soon at that?

Well, it mainly has to do with this: When the author sticks to MAGICK, it's processes, it's applications within the self and purposes, it's obvious he knows what he's talking about......but when he strays into social commentary and revisionist history...and uses it to TEACH this same magick, well, there are some problems.

I use those 2 sets of words "Social Commentary" and "Revisionist History", because the reviewer beneath me (Regular Joe - 2 stars) used them. I read his review, and thought to myself "Come on, it can't be that bad!"

....Well, it is.

Mixed in with his lessons in magick are his self hating opinions on men and masculine energy in general, blaming it for all the ills of society and our current spiritual predicament of being enmeshed in matter without a conscious realization of Self. You read that last part right. He seriously believes this, and what makes this (and other statements) so serpentine is that he mixes...
