C. PerezC. Perez: Small size perch: The larger part of the perch was 95f, but is too large for my budgie. My budgie could sit on the smaller (end) of the perch, but it got up to 105-106f at that spot. Didn't want to cook my bird. It would probably work better for a larger bird.

K. FischerK. Fischer: My green cheek conure loves this warming perch in her normal play cage. Even though we're now in warm weather, it's good to keep it in there since we like the place to be cooler than what our baby likes. She's molting so this is a must! I put a warming plate right above to add extra warmth. My only gripe is that this won't fit in the travel cage. I will need to buy a smaller one that will work for the bars in the travel cage.

Lakisha4: I like this perch! Based on the previous reviews, I decided to wrap guaze around the perch to keep down the temperature of the perch since it is slightly warmer. I feel the temperature may be a little too high for small birds, but this perch does work efficiently for warming birds! My 17 year old cockatiel needed an extra boost in warmth since he's of age. He perched on it, but swiftly moved off once he warmed up & showed no signs of fluffing...LOL! The perch works! Please have this as a spare perch for seeking the relief of warming up including additional perches! I do not think the wire/cable will hold up in time due to the design of it, but I will see in time! Happy that I made this investment; therefore, I ordered another one for a sick parrot.

Brenda: These are so useful that I have bought three of them. They keep little birdie toes toasty warm in the winter. The one comment that I would make it is that the plastic is very smooth so if you have birds that suffer foot problems such as bumble foot or have deformed feet, you will need to wrap these in that wrap to make them soft enough to be comfortable. That is what I do for my cockatoo who has deformed feet, One wing and is prone to bumble foot because she sits on her hocks.

MON OISEAU L'ADORE!!! J'ai un inséparable âgé de 18 ans qui perd un peu ses plumes. J'ai également acheté la plaque chauffante (la plus grosse) que j'ai mis de côté, c-à-d le côté le plus long à la verticale, et j'ai placé le barreau chauffant d'un côté de la plaque (avec un barreau réguler tout près ) et sa tente en polar de l'autre côté de la plaque, avec une ouverture collée à la plaque chauffante. Eh bien mon oiseau passe maintenant une grande partie de ses journées sur son barreau! Sur son barreau, il fait tout plein de "crouc-crouc" de contentement, il se gonfle les plumes de bien être, y somnole en tout confort et passe plein de temps à faire sa toilette d'un air serein. (Il passe aussi toutes ses nuits et parfois ses siestes dans sa tente, la tête blottie/collée contre la plaque chauffante). J'ai également vu son état de santé physique et psychologique s'améliorer grandement!!! Il a plus d'énergie, est plus joueur, mange mieux et est plus joyeux! J'ai...

Amazon Customer: Hi
Had this product couple of months, 1st month worked great, 2nd month parts of perch barely warm & other areas cold.
It also developed a noise a pinging sound happens every few seconds, sometimes a minute.
I don't know how to contact person I bought it from.
It states it has a 1yr warranty.
I try contacting Amazon for help you have to pick reason why.
When I do statement appears & I'm told return time ended Sept. 30/17
I don't think its unreasonable to have replaced.
Amazon should let customer chose reason their asking for help.
85% of time reason has nothing to do with their list making it very frustrating.
I couldn't find seller of this item to ask for replacement.
ASAP ** My parrot is 31yrs old, she developed sour crop is slowly getting better the perch was a big help when it worked.
Do hope Amazon contacts me
The sooner its replaced the better.
I'm Don't want to return item & get my money back, I want it Replaced should last longer than 1yr.

Samantha: I'm writing this review in the hope of saving birds from some of the things I have read in other reviews here, by owners who obviously love their birds but don't have a lot of knowledge of birds. I have many birds, many different species large and tiny, all rescues. I have had at least 20 Thermo Perches over the past decade, large and small. First of all, I'll tell you why I buy them. When they work, there is nothing better for a sick bird, or a lonely bird, or even a healthy bird in an aviary on a winter night (particularly female birds). Most sick birds, older birds or birds sleeping alone end up loving this perch. Some birds are afraid of it initially and a few stay afraid. Young healthy males usually show no interest in it - their testosterone is so high they are warm enough except in extreme cold.

The perch is too smooth, and size small is not as small as it should be for finches, canaries, etc. That being said, most small birds - even tiny zebra finches - find a way to comfortably perch on them if they want the warmth. They are a blessing to many birds in cold, lonely, or unhealthy situations, and I believe they can extend the active life of some of these...

kim: My 8-month old parrotlet (named Zek) lives in the corner of my room, which is one of the draftier areas of the house. I got this perch to keep him, and his whole cage, warm. I keep a cover over the back half of the cage, where the heater is; I keep a thermometer on the cage, and since installing the heater, the top of the cage has been about 3-4 degrees warmer. I haven't seen him ever sit on the perch, but he sleeps on a perch slightly below it, and often rests his head on the heater, so I think he likes it. When I put my hand on it, it's definitely warm, maybe a little hot; and I'm wondering if it's too hot for him to sleep on. There's no temperature control, just plugged in and on, or not plugged in and off. However, it definitely gives me peace of mind that he is warm enough - or at least he would be warm enough if he wanted to sit on it. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the cord has a metal bite guard over a good four feet of the cord. The picture makes it look like it is like six inches long, but it goes all the way to the floor on my cage (foot and a half tall pedestal, plus 22-inch cage).

Problems: I had an excruciatingly difficult time getting the stupid thing...
