Andy Tweddle: As funny and informative as you would like it to be.

Suman: If you aren’t familiar with 1980’s Hollywood, most of the book doesn’t make much sense. I know Cryer only for Two and a Half Men and that’s what I was interested in. The details of his previous work - tho enlightening- were detailed and boring.

Will K. Twork: I'll be the first to admit that as much as I loved the original cast of Two and a half men, I never ever watched anything that involved Jon, prior to the show. I never saw, or had the urge to see Pretty In Pink, (Hell, I even toured as the lighting designer for The Psychedelic Furs!) but you get the picture right? Not to say I had an issue with the guy, I just never really heard of him. Having said that, I do seem to remember mistakenly thinking he was the guy from Ferris Bueller's Day Off (another movie I never sat down and watched entirely) but having said all of the above, I downloaded a sample of the book and within minutes I was really enjoying it, so I bought it.
And I'm happy to say I LOVED IT. Its well written and very funny most of the time. His life story through the ups and downs of his schooling, acting career, acting camp as a kid.. I could go on. I feel like I was hanging out with him as he was telling me stories over drinks. I have some of the same geek stories, although mind were rock and roll stories about my trying to be a musician, then when that didn't workout, a roadie, then after years of trying and failing to find my true talent, a professional stage...

Siddhant S.: As I am a HUGE fan Of Two and half men (seen the entire series 3 Times till now) and Jon Cryer, “So That Happened” was a Must Must Must! Read for me, when I was not able to find a Hardcopy of it in India Mumbai (well I am more of a old school when it comes to books and prefer Physical book more then Kindle copy) I downloaded a Kindle Copy, and With no doubt fell in the love with the Memoir. Hours of intense reading was fun. Would recommend it to Two and a half men fans, Jon Cryer Fans and all the Aspiring Actors out there. There is a lot to learn from this book.

80s Boy: Cryer leaves few stones unturned in this engaging trip down 80s-00s lane. Yes, there's the expected PIP and TAAHM fodder, but you can't help but love a guy that also focuses on the debacles of his quick fall from grace. "Morgan Stewart's Coming Home" (not the original title), "Superman IV", "Dudes", and his many pilots gone by are also nicely explored. And so is Demi Moore. And so is this guy's sex life! Yep, you pretty much get all access to Jon's escapades...perhaps approaching an awkward "TMI" level for some, but I survived.

This was perhaps influenced by the fact that Cryer -- though a film and television legend (ok, that's pushing it) -- very much retains an "everyman" status, despite his fame and fortune. You get the sense that despite being something of a high-profile performer, that there was a still an unacceptance, a loneliness to his success. From the stories of people on set, to parties attended and elbows rubbed, that he was never truly embraced by the Hollywood community. Now keeping his nose clean (in a very literal sense, unlike his co-star Chuck "Party Ma"-Sheen) and maintaining a good-ole-boy reputation obviously kept his cache at a certain height, but you...

Barry: Bought this book for the g.f.
Here is her review:
I was looking forward to reading this book. After I began to read it I was looking forward to finishing it.Although it was not boring,I was unfortunately disappointed to learn that Jon Cryer seems to have a bit too much of an ego issue-my b.f.,upon hearing me read a bit out loud to him to make my point about my opinion of the book, commented Jon sounds,or rather writes, like a snob.Maybe Jon was trying to be funny, but it did not read like that-a lot of words used that were not what you would use in a regular conversation-I realize he is intelligent, but sometimes the book also read as mean-spirited(the ego thing again). But,I will say he seems a lot like his character Alan Harper on Two and a Half Men.Make of that/take that,what/how you will

AlisonJustAlison: I did enjoy the book. It was a little difficult to get into and I found the first few chapters a little dull. There was a lot about growing up and I didn't find it interesting. It really started to pick up when he wrote about his first acting jobs and in particular, during the time filming Pretty in Pink. He then went through his career in chronological order ending with his time on Two and a Half Men. The parts about Charlie and Ashton were very interesting and there were some insights that weren't reported in gossip news at the time. He delves only slightly into his personal life (marriage, children etc) and focuses more on acting. The acting parts are very interesting. I had never thought of him as a serious actor but he obviously is. Overall, I thought it was a great book.

Kindle Enthusiast: I first saw Pretty in Pink when I was seven and to this day it remains one of my favourite films of all time. Pretty in Pink (there is no use wasting good lip gloss, that is a volcanic ensemble, I don't want you to drive me home ...because I live by the tracks, I am off like a dirty shirt, I just want them to know they didn't break me, Blane that is not a name it's an electrical appliance and also gave us that important life lesson of never ever make your own prom dress) and The Godfather (keep your friends close and enemies closer, I'm going to make him an offer he can't refuse, sleeping with the fishes, go to the mattresses, the horse's head in his bed, just when I think I am out they pull me back in) are indeed the sources of all wisdom (as Tom Hanks noted in You've Got Mail regarding Coppola's masterpiece).

I was also Team Duckie as he really loved and understood Andie but I totally understand the argument that you want the girl to be able to get the guy she wants even though he drives a BMW and she lives by the tracks (I was able to cope with the revised ending by the fact that Blane was played by Andrew McCarthy, who was so pretty and sensitive, actually I loved all...
