J. A. Carr: My husband had knee surgery and is still swollen. He wore a stockingette in the hospital, so wanted to have more so I would not have to wash it daily. It provides a bit of compression, but also is a layer between his knee scar and rough clothing. This is a big size that is good for heavy legs or knees.
