Nicolas: Its great that this unit comes with an A/C adapter and doesn't need to run off batteries. Its easy to read and use.

Its a bit more challenging to keep clean. Dirt can accumulate between the weigh platform and the base. My previous unit stopped working with the A/C unit and the buttons on the front wore out forcing me to buy a second unit.

Andrew M.: It's a fine scale that's worked for us for about 6 years. I suppose I should feel lucky that our unit doesn't have the problems that seem to plague many other users. It loses points for its loud, shrill beeps that you cannot turn off, and for the fact that I'm constantly walking into the kitchen to find that the scale has turned itself on at some point in the day. Seriously, I've taken to unplugging it because it's just such a small, persistent annoyance to know that it's just down there drawing power until I notice it.

E: Not sure what it is - they're great scales when they work - but they don't seem to last long in a kitchen or coffee shop environment and will start reading Unstable even when they're not or won't turn on at all even if it isn't a battery issue. Might just be shoddy solders inside the unit, I haven't disassembled them to check.
These aren't super durable scales.

shelbsjordan: I have used this scale every single day, often multiple times a day, for nearly three years now and it's still going strong. I've had zero issues with it. It's always quick, responsive, and accurate. I use it mostly for coffee but have also used it for measuring dry ingredients for baked goods.
For coffee it's perfect. For other things the plate is a little small so finding a bowl that sits comfortably on it could be a challenge.
It seems to run forever on it's batteries. I think I've only changed the batteries once in three years.
I've definitely spilled water and food on it many times and it's taken it all like a camp. At this point even if it died tomorrow I'd be satisfied with it's life and would just get another. Much better than the $15 dollar one I had before it.
