Erin: First of all, this is an excellent graphic novel. I'm not a huge fan of the art style but the story more than makes up for it in my humble opinion!
I bought it used in "like new" condition but it came with a couple of marks and and slightly bent spine. I'm not exactly complaining, but I would call that "excellent" condition and not "like new". Still love it because I'm not that picky; I'm just letting y'all know in case you choose to buy used and you really really care if it really is like new and it doesn't meet your expectations.

Lorenzo: A true mastepice.
Best read of 2021.
The story is adventurous, emotional, philosophically engaging but still very accessible, white a strong moral and critics against men behaviour and nature, about the boundaries of what is science and what can be sacrificed for it and the relationships between men and nature.
There ain't flattered characters not at all, no black and white personalities only shades of grey.
The characters evolve wonderfully throughout the story accordingly to their background and their experiences.
Much more could be said about the story about I wouldn't spoil it.
The art instead it's particular no doubt Jeff Lemire is a GREAT story teller, but as a penciler he has his whole style which I didn't appreciate much at the beginning but that K started enjoying throughout the story.
But even if the art is not your cup of tea, you should definitely give it a try.
The edition: I would say that you get what you pay for, is a very cheap book but the quality is influenced by that.

Daniel: If your coming to this after the Netflix series you should know that it's pretty different and a little darker. Kind of reminds me in some ways how they did the walking dead where some things happen similar to the source material some things are totally different. Just note that the tone is a lot more grim here we're as the Netflix series to me is a little brighter.
That being said tho sweet tooth is dope! Jeff lemire is just one of the best people writing comics right now and I recommend his stuff to any body who like a good story.

Harrison: I watched the Netflix show first and admittedly I was a little thrown off at first by the quirky charm and whatnot, but grew to love it. I finished the series and wanted more content and I happened to see the compendium was on sale so I grabbed it on a whim, and what I got was an epic tale that has made me laugh, cry, and feel things like anger and sadness and joy. It’s a really well told story and I love these characters and I feel like they’ll stay with me for a long time. It’s a story about growing up. It’s a story about doing what you have to do. It’s a story about never losing hope. It’s a really great story.

DerekDerek: This is a story.
What an amazing read. I'd highly recommend this if you love post-apocalyptic stories, in the vein of 'Y: The Last Man' or 'The Walking Dead'. Mix in some 'Fables' style literature, and boom... you've got 'Sweet Tooth'.
I do want to address what a lot of other reviews are saying, that "it's not bound so well", "the pages are so thin", or "it's going to fall apart after one read". The picture I've included is after I read the entire thing myself. No structural issues. The book lays flat, cover just ever so slightly open but stays shut when upright. No pages showing signs of wear or detachment. The spine is completely flat, no crease whatsoever. Being said, just know how a books structure works, and you'll be fine. Don't be flipping it so far open, or flattening it out dramatically while reading it. Use one hand under the heavier side of the book as you go for support. This is an excellent compilation, and one I'd buy over and over again.

Conor Metz: I’d heard great things about this comic for years and wanted to check it out for a while. Recently read Lemire’s Black Hammer series and loved it, then the Sweet Tooth Netflix series came out and I loved that too. So I finally decided to read this and I have to say I was overall disappointed after how highly acclaimed this series is.
First off, the art is pretty terrible, let’s get that out of the way. I get it, Lemire writes and draws a lot of his comics, and he’s entitled to do so, but it still makes it harder for me to enjoy a visual medium when the art looks like this.
With that out of the way, let’s get to the actual story. It starts out pretty compelling, but quickly just devolves in the standard post-apocalyptic tropes we’ve seen a hundred times over, and usually more interesting than what we get here. When I got to the last third of the book, things seemed to feel rushed, moving quickly to a conclusion that wasn’t in the least bit surprising or satisfactory to me. It felt like stuff I’ve seen before and honestly done better than this.
If you want a superior story with animals rising up against humans amidst a global pandemic, check out...
