Louisa Tiesh sets out spells for all types of magic and follows them up with, "Then get to work to manifest your desire." (Paraphrased) She also focuses on the positive. Can't stand your boss? Instead of wishing harm, create a spell to hope your boss gets a promotion or a lateral move away from your department. Love this book!

I have a very keen interest in other culture's spirituality and practices, and I'm embarrassed to admit that African Spirituality was not one I had thought of learning more about. Until my daughter suggested this book I had not given it one single solitary thought. I am so glad she did and so glad I purchased it. Celene: Saying that this bood is good or great does not do it justice. All I can say is that this book was so good - that when I put it down I wanted to go out and meet the author. Not a lot of books make me feel that way.
The material is presented in an easy to read fashion, and she sprinkles in little tid bids of LA Voudou lore along with real life experiences that really makes everything very easy to understand. I have read so many books on voudou and many of them try to make the practice sound obscure and mysterious, but this author manages to bring it right to you - in a way that is easy to understand.
Not only that, but this lady has had an amazing life! Even though she has a wide range of experience, she does not bill anything as the "absolute" of anything. She presents to you her point of view, based on her life experiences and nudges you in the right direction to find your own path.
This book is not only informative but entertaining. If you want to know more about LA Voudou or if you are looking for a good overal spiritual book that enlightens you as well as keeps your interest - this is the book for you!
