DragonGal: Well written, but I didn't find the tales that strange. But considering the author is Strange, and there were tales, as advertised.

T.P.Pfeiffer: Scotland is truly a remarkable place for its history is both horrific and romantic. These stories entwined the best of both aspects. The narrative is clear and concise, yet detailed sufficiently to set the scene for each Strange Tale. Highly recommended for anyone interested in the supernatural or folklore, or in history. Of course those of us with Scots ancestry will be in Seventh Heaven!

Kindle Junkie: A collection of legends and tales interspersed with history make interesting reading. Their telling is written in an easy to follow manner.

Rose: This really is an interesting and fascinating read. it doesn’t talk much about witness accounts as related by the witnesses the way most books of this kind do. You won’t see phrases like ‘I was just walking down the hallway whe’ but you’ll get a lot of history and a lot of explanation. There’s a certain amount of personal feeling about some of the stories but I think it’s good even with all that. I’d certainly recommend it to anyone wanting to read about monsters and ancient legend though you might want to consult a dicionary to get the pronunciations of the names right. Seep are not so strange yet though the sheep walk on two legs now not four but that’s a private reference.

Shannon: I thought this was pretty good for this type of book. It seemed like the more historical the person or place the more wild and strange the story. I really like the fingerless piper story. I also liked how many of the stories involved some exchange with devil. This, and also having more than one version of the story, seems to be the status quo in Scottish lore.

Kindle Customer: Strange Tales of Scotland is an apt title. Weird happens and sometimes some really deranged people. Maybe it is the whiskey. Even the royalty is not spared. One, with King Alexander is a love tale—of sorts. Queen Mary had real own problems with the supernatural. Of course, there is a bit about Nessie, but there are other creatures. A Cait Siths are ghostly cats and a Cu Sith is a green dog. Who would think a sacrificial cave would exist in Scotland or legends of cannibalism? Of course, there are phantom armies and ghosts aplenty. I loved the part about the Scottish fairies. It seems they differ from the English fairy, but you will have to read about them for yourself. Oh yes, there is a big foot-like creature, mass murderers, and a powerful seer. Readers of the macabre will love this collection.

Bobbi Lerman: With her latest release, author Gilda Morina Syvverson weaves an enthralling tale of both Italy, her family and how they are all and always will be forever intertwined. Part memoir, part travelogue, I was riveted by both sides of this story as the author took me on an intimate journey as she, her (very calm and adaptable) husband, mother and father traveled back to the Old Country to both re-connect with family and their childhood beginnings. Colorful, fast paced, funny and touching, with scenes so wonderfully descriptive I could see the cobbled streets in Rome and Sicily as I read the pages. I felt like I was walking along beside the author. I could smell the food. I was sad when I reached the end. I was left with many questions I want to post to my own family. Sicily has been moved to the top of I need to visit list. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Looking forward to reading more of this talented writer’s work.
