Two separate "IP65" ev chargers from knockoff chinese brands died from modest rain, let along heavy rain, so I really needed to invest into something properly waterproof. This guy did the trick! It stays outside 24/7 and works without a hitch! I also love how small and flexible/portable it is. A lot of the 40amp ev chargers have these crazy heavy cables, but this one is nice and lightweight. I charge usually at 24 amps, and it works great!

Update 2: I have changed my review to 5 stars. I had a qualified electrician come out and he determined the issue was with the circuit. The wires were loose which connected to the receptacle and that caused excessive heat. The charger was found not to be at fault. Additionally, I did contact j+ booster customer service and they were very helpful. They asked good questions to help determine the problem and even offered to speak with the electrician while he was at my house. Due to the charger not being at fault and the great customer service, I changed from 1 to 5 stars.
UPDATE 1: THE CHARGER NOW GETS HOT EVERYTIME IT CHARGES AND EMITS A STRONG BURNT PLASTIC SMELL. I THINK IT IS FAULTY AFTER 10 MONTHS OF USE. I AM IN THE PROCESS OF CONTACTING CUSTOMER SERVICE. BEWARE!!!

David Harris Kolada: Love it. Only thing that needs improvement is the bracket which is very basic and arrived bent. Could also use a cover to keep the plug dry when attached to the vehicle.

Travis Fricks-C: The j+booster might seem expensive but for me it has been worth the money. It’s easy to use and very tough. Comes with great accessories including a carry case.
I bought an extra 5-15 plug so I could charge at lev 1. It charged with no issues the first day but the second day it would keep faulting out and stop charging. After troubleshooting and finding out it wasn’t anything I could fix I call their customer service. They promptly fixed the issue by sending me a new plug in like three days. I haven’t had any issues since then.
Side note: If you ever need to troubleshoot with the charger j+ makes it easy by lighting up one of the LEDs on the charger. Simply reference the manual to figure out what is wrong. Easiest troubleshooting on a EV charger I’ve had.
