iPod Junky: Bought this blade to cut down a number of Melamine covered wood shelves and it worked flawlessly. Yes, I scored the cut line, covered the area to be cut with tape and set the blade to cut half-way through the material. It worked perfectly, No chipping and beautiful straight edges on the shelf that I was then able to re-edge with white melamine. Made the job really easy.
