twzdfirestrtr: so I recently started a tie dye company and when your making a bunch of shirts you tend to run out of dye.. fairly quickly.. it also takes probably the most time mixing dye. I decided to try one of these to see how it compares to shaking a bottle or a mason jar. to my amazement, all I had to do was center the jar add the powder and water, turn it on and bingo! I had a little more hands off time to do other things.
it mixes everything perfectly. the speed control is great.
needless to say I bought 3 more.
these have saved me so much time and energy and effort.
I will but but if I need more than 4

T. Hanson: Bought this to mix shellac. It works perfectly for the job. The speed control is nice to dial it in so that it mixes at the highest velocity while not splashing. Just set your shellac + solvent in a mason jar and walk away. Let it spin for a couple hours and you got perfectly mixed shellac. Works great to remix it as well if it starts to precipitate out.
Best shellac mixer for the money.

Don Sutherland: The stirrer is not intended for mixing viscous liquids or solutions in large containers. I bought it to stir water in a 0.5 liter glass that I use for calibrating lab thermometers and it does this very well. The included stir bar is a bit on the small side so it probably shouldn't be used with a container much bigger than 1 liter. I have had it running continuously for days without any problems. The stirrer uses very little power so it does not heat up whatever it is stirring. The stirrer is very light, but in spite of this it seems like it would be durable.
