Gavin Keller: If you are like me,you ordered this vacuum thinking it would fit your newer intex prism pool,only to find out it is a slightly smaller thread. The thread of the vacuum will fit on the strainers but will absolutely not fit on the inlet ,the threads are larger.

I ordered 11070 Strainer Connector/Adapter - for Intex Swimming Pool 1-1/4" Fitting to match the other two strainers and put it in the inlet hole and vacuum works good. Also,the blue inlet cover will screw onto the strainer when vacuumis removed. Cost me about $9.00 or so to make it work.

Joe P, Georgia USA: I Purchased this at $50. I’ve learned that the pool has to be mostly clean before you put this in so it won’t clean a dirty pool for you, it is more of a maintenance robot. I have an upgraded pump on my above ground pool, With a skimmer. What I love about this is that this unit uses the return line from your filter to clean your pool, so your skimmer is working and this little guy is cleaning the bottom at the same time. I have a $350 pool cleaning robot, And a $200 pool cleaning robot.… This Intex robot does not work as well as either one of those, but if you take the time and vacuum the pool first, this little guy will do a great job. For $50 I would say it’s the best 50 I ever spent . I’ve noticed that adding a flocculant will make this guy stop moving after a while, but the thought of after a day of swimming and hooking this guy up to maintain the pool overnight for the next day, totally sold me. Because of my yard, my pool is placed very close to trees, so I have a lot of maintenance to do.

OMAC1A: Did the job as described, however, corners are a problem. My pool had severe algae buildup and when I treated it with chemicls it naturally died, however, due to the amount of debris on the pool floor I had to clean the trap out frequently.

The following is not related to the functionality of the pool cleaner, but the filter, but will impact your cleaner.

In the first couple days I was using the cleaner after about an hour it stopped moving, it would just stay in place. This was because of the water pressure coming out of the filter. I would backwash and rinse the pump and then it would start moving again. As noted earlier there was severe algae buildup so that was getting into the filter and reducing the flow. If you experience a slowdown with the cleaner my first recommendation would be to backwash and rinse the filter/pump, and clean out the filter that comes with the cleaner.

crys: We used it this season. It works well at picking up debris, though, slowly. If you have even small wrinkles in the liner, it will get stuck on the liner. It isnt strong enough to run overtop of them.

Amazon Customer: I've had this pool bug for more than two years now, inn the same pool, which I think will make this an honest review.
When it decides to work, it works well.....but it's as reliable as a tweeker on Graveyard shift. At first I found it odd that it hooked up to the exhaust instead of the intake, but then I realized it works like blowing over a ketchup bottle. The exiting water creates a vacuum under it which sucks stuff up, down to the smallest particles of sand. The other upside of this design is that what it doesn't suck up, it blows around and suspends it in the water for the skimmer to pick up later. All good.
Now the bad. It works great....but only when it decides to show up and clock in. I swear my wife's X-husband is more reliable. I can pick it up out of the water, let it clear itself and drop it....and it takes of like the Flying Sub (for those who remember). Then, within a few minutes (sometimes seconds) of scooting around, it will stop in its tracks. Mind you, it's done this since new. You hear it shift gears but it goes no where.
I went online, got You Tube Certified in Intex Bug Repair, took it apart, did all the fixes and it worked great for about an hour. The...
