Chris Savage: I installed in my rub rail by removing a section of the insert and it was a good fit. Gave it 5 stars on easy to install, but you can imagine my install method was not the easiest. That said, the complication was not due to the product. The adhesion was good and solid and held up for 9 months before i sold the boat. Intend to order another set and install on my new boat. Good brightness and no dropped LEDs in the 9 months I owned this product. 5 stars is my recommendation.

Kindle Customer: I bought and installed on my bass tracker pro team 190. I had to remove the rubber rub rail where I installed it and it fit perfectly in the spot. The lights are very bright and time will tell with durability. I was surprised that they were shipped in an envelope vs a small box or tube to protect them during shipping

sfdeadman: Fairly easy to install...… flexible enough that you can put them where you want. They come with adhesive on the backing, I still used a silicon sealant to ensure they don't come off. Just ensure you have a power and ground wire available...… I used my existing nav light system and tagged these on with the bow light port. Fairly simple, now I have these as well as the pole lights if I need them as well. They are very bright, and extremely visible. Plus they look really cool !

jamesjames: These came quick were easy to install took me about an hour only because i cut my rub rail to install them and did a few mods on them best thing about them i can lose the front light pole that always seems to be in the way of my trolling motor. And it gives me a few extra inches of movablity on the bow for loading and loading or fishing.and in a small boat any extra fishing space you can get is always a plus. I installed these light last year and they are still firmly in place still work like a charm .after installing them I put non slip grip tape over the old pole light and installed my trolling motor mount over that . these are bright lights I use them sometimes to help me see at dawn what I am doing at the front of the trailer. the people who have given this a bad review must not know how to install them right or did not prep the area good enough before installing them. LOVE THESE LIGHTS can not say enough about them . I am gonna add another set of the color led light for the inside of the boat

Tad: Test out the lights before you mount them, just to make sure you have a red and a green strip, and that they both work okay. I'm basing that off another review I read where a customer received two reds. That being said, mine had tags indicating which was green and which one was red, and what wires were positive. I found the positive wires to have a white dashed line running along the length of em.

These are super bright! I have no doubt they have at least one mile visibility on a clear night on the water. USCG requires visibility from dead ahead to 112 degrees back. I mounted mine on the very front of my rub rail on my 18ft pleasure boat, and found that they were good to at least 135 degrees.

I originally planned on mounting them on top of the rub strip, but I decided to cut out a short length of rubber out of each rub rail and mount these led strips to the aluminum underneath. I love this setup! Very clean look.
