M. M.: I've had this for about 3 years now. It is absolutely amazing. And now I'm on a yogurt kick and low and behold it's a great yogurt maker with completely customizable temperature settings. I tested it and it is extremely accurate. I was so worried when I first purchased it, but I've never regretted this purchase. It has worked great for all my recipes.

MergatroidMergatroid: I thought this thing was going to be awesome judging from all the glowing reviews.

1. Takes forever to pre-heat, and it doesn't start cooking until that's done. It also needs 10-15 minutes to "depressurize naturally", so any time you see recipe for something and it gives you a cooking time, you can basically double it because of the pre=heat and depressurizing times.
2. Constant "Food Burn" errors. Even with a stew that has 2 cups of water in it, it STILL gives the food burn error. Once you have that, you have to open it up, stir it and remove anything that may be sticking to the bottom, and then start again. If this happens, add another 5 to 10 minutes to the time, and there is no guarantee it won't happen again during your cooking.

I have gotten so mad at this thing it almost ended up in the trash a few times. The amount of time it takes to pressurize is ridiculous. It's no where near as good as people claim.
Maybe it's just this version. If you look for recipes almost all of them are for an older version that doesn't seem to have the "pre=heat requirement. In fact, I have yet to see pre-heating even mentioned anywhere except the instruction manual.
So...

Marick: I've cooked more in the past few weeks with this Instant Pot than I have in the last year combined. I wish I had gotten one years ago, but glad I held out for the Duo Evo Plus 8qt model. It's very simple to use once you get the hang of a few details. It cooks meals amazingly fast and everything tastes so good! Soups taste like you've slaved over the stove for hours. Beef stew done in 8 minutes! The only thing that could make this product any better if if it prepped the food going into the pot for you. The model I have has handles on the liner pot, which makes it very easy and imo safer to use. Especially if you may have arthritic/pain issues of the hands. It's easy to clean up this pot. I stick the lid into the top of the dishwasher and it comes out looking like new. I would recommend getting extra silicone rings for the lid, and valves in case the one in use goes missing. That actually happened to my neighbour recently while she was washing the lid in her sink. It's probably stuck in the drain now. Don't go gung-ho with the accessories until you get the hang of using the pot. I recently got the steamer basket to use for veggies, and will get an extra liner pot later so I can keep...

JacquelineJacqueline: Whoohoo!!!! I love it!
At first i probably did what most people do... which is let it sit there for a while feeling a little unsure of it.... maybe even a little scared of it? I had found some recipes from a food blogger? (Not sure If that's what it's called)... her name is Ashley, at My Heart Beets and she has all these fantastic Indian recipes that are gf,keto, paleo etc etc as well as regular ones and great cooking tips. She got me really curious about the instant pot and that was what sparked my interest in getting one myself.
The sous vide function had been the final selling point for me......i reasoned even if i only used it as a slow cooker, sous vide and pressured canned my hot sauce I'd be happy. So after a month i finally got it out of the box. Next I hunted for something easy to make for a first time user. I found a simple chicken supper and presto ... it was fast and good. I still was not sold that I loved it though.... I'm a cook and i almost never follow recipes and living remotely i don't always have the type of ingredients one would expect or find combined in your average recipe. I hoped I could easily learn times and tricks I needed to feel confident to do...

UCA Lady: When I first read the reviews about the wonderful new Duo Evo Plus and saw it on sale for Black Friday, I was so excited. I had been thinking of taking an Instant Pot to my business so I could come with supper at least partly complete and we could eat sooner in the evening. So my only problem would be, which one would I leave at home, and which one would go with me to the shop! I read about the handles, which I knew would come in handy when I have to carry a pot full of hot milk during my weekly yogurt making sessions, and I really liked the idea of being able to push a button to change from pressure to vent. So I ordered it, and for my first test, decided to steam a pot of turkey stuffing I had in the refrigerator. Even though it was pretty moist already, I added over a cup of broth, just what the recipe called for even though mine already had the recipe liquid mixed in.

My first problem was that even though I read through the "Getting Started" booklet carefully and looked at a couple of rave review sites, I couldn't see any detailed instructions on how to set the time and temperature using the dial. So, I just turned it on and chose "custom" when that came up, hoping...

Saliandra: I have been using the Ultra Instant Pot for several years now and really love it. It has truly changed my life! I decided I needed another pot as there were times when I couldn't make all of my food items at once because I only had one pot. So during Black Friday sales, I picked up the Duo Evo at a steep discount. I love the features of this pot!

Things the Duo Evo Plus has that the Ultra does not have:
1. Easy lift handles which make it not only easier to lift the pot out, but also makes it such that the pot does not roll around when you are stirring. Love it!
2. A flat-bottomed inner pot. This allows for the pot to go right to the stove if desired. I also like that my oils don't just slide off to the sides like they do on the Ultra. Love this also!
3. Preset buttons so you don't have to use the dial as often. More convenient!
4. A more gentle steam release.
5. More protection against burns since there is no exposed metal on the lid.
6. Six saute' settings compared to only 3 on the Ultra.
7. The ability to change program settings while you are cooking - no need to cancel and start over.
8. Larger LCD panel.
9. A Bake function that supposedly...
