foodbear: It lasted 7 years and then started to drip, drip, drip and like other have said you can't fix the unit from leaking. While this highly priced faucet is attractive and the finish lasted, I will be replacing this with a different lower priced complete system with faucet and heater.

ajr: My faucet is 10 years old now. Looks great and worked perfectly until recently. The faucet recently began to have a constant leak and the moderately helpful Insinkerator support person confirms that the valve is leaking and the faucet cannot be fixed. You cannot buy parts, they cannot fix it, it is out of warranty and they have no trade-in/trade-up program - the faucet is shot, buy another one, thank you for your business.
$400ish is a lot of money to pay for a faucet that is not used more than twice a day and not serviceable. I have the hot water tank and faucet hooked to my RO system so there can't be very much scale build up. I think it just wore out from the little use it's had. Be very careful and think through this before purchase - it looks cool but is it work it?

F. McKenzie: Easy enough to install and the water is hot but water has been undrinkable since install due to it smelling just like the tank. Thought the smell would eventually go away but months later and cannot use water due to the odour. Waste of money and very disappointed.

cgstatenj: Reasons for 3 stars , have to set at max heat to get a good hot cup of coffee, chocolate, or tea. Just short of reaching advertised temp settings at max setting.

K. Salinger, Holistic Nurse Practitioner: Most all of the insta-hot faucets tend to look really old-fashioned, with oddly curvey bases, handles, etc. This one is really, really attractive. I was really turned off by the cost of this faucet and super lucked out, as Amazon had an open box deal on it for only $111!! We then bought the least expensive insta-hot unit we could find, which is the push-button unit InSinkErator Invite H-HOT100 Push Button Instant Hot Water Dispenser System with Stainless Steel Tank, Chrome , which was $187 when we bought it, and overall we ended up saving hundreds of dollars doing it this way.
The tube of the faucet (very technical description, I know!) seems wider than that of most the other insta-hots we've had and because of this (I think...) it seems to pour out faster than those I've had in the past. I really like this as whatever I'm filling goes much faster. You have to push down the lever, then push it back in order to turn on the water (safety feature). It's really easy to do and becomes second nature very quickly. I felt I took a chance buying an open box, but the price was so significantly lower we figured it was worth a try. Total Geek: Our new home already had the base model InSinkErator hot water dispenser installed at the kitchen sink. We've never had one before, and quickly learned to love this versatile device. Anything requiring boiling water on the stove happens in a minute. Hot tea instantly. Sticky mess when dishwashing just melts away. We keep finding new ways to use it. The base model plastic faucet was downright unattractive, but functional. We eventually replaced the cheap water faucet on this sink with a top of the line Growhe model, making the InSinkErator faucet look even more dowdy. Low and behold, all InSinkerator faucets fit their hot water tank systems with or without the filter. This one matches the beautiful new Growhe sink faucet almost exactly, same arch and swivel ability, same high quality heavy brass construction. Installation was a snap, a "do it myself job" because everything was already there with the same fittings (plug and play). We're pleased with it, will use and enjoy for years.
