Judy in Manitoba: I don't understand how it is that more people don't use fans. I use mine all the time so whenever I need a breeze, I have a breeze!. These fans are colourful and sturdy. The plastic ribs don't break in my purse or backpack and the fabric of the fan is strong. My other fans are wood and some kind of silky material and those things break/rip all the time. Most importantly, these fans create a lovely cooling breeze. These are fantastic!

Just me: These are Beautiful and very effective.
The cloth of these fans really moves the air (I used to use a sandal wood fan, beautiful wooden cutouts.. but didn't work well). These work great! Using very little effort in the wrist, one can really get a nice breeze going. They are so pretty that my best friend wants one of my fans to display in her home for decoration.
They have raised the price since I've purchased mine, and I hope they don't go up any further. They are really pretty, and effective... but they are inexpensively made and do break easily. If you can get them for just a little over a dollar each, you don't feel so bad when they break. The first thing to break is usually the little metal bottom part. Just a helpful hint... save up some twisty ties and you can thread them through the bottom when the metal part breaks (to extend the life of the fan).
