Devi: As I want this for home use.. I dont want anything costly. This is very economical. I caliberate the same with icebath method and it gaves accurate temperature.. So for me it is precise and easy to use.

Beth: When I first received this temp gun my two teenage children argued over who got to keep it to play with it. After a few days of walking around the house taking the temperature of everything the novelty of it wore off to them and I was finally able to get it back.
You never realize how many things you can use this for until you have it. It makes it easy to check the temperature around your windows and doors to know which ones have potential air leaks. I used it to see if a pump on my aquarium was running hotter than it should. I also now know where the hot spots on my gas griddle are. If you’re into working on cars I’ve used these temp guns in the past to see if any components on the car are over heating, like the brake discs.
I have used a few different brands of temp guns in the past and this one is comparable to the others. Point the gun at what you want to know the temperature of and pull the trigger. When I received my temp gun I changed it to Fahrenheit but otherwise I didn’t mess with any setting because I didn’t need to.
The few things that I roughly knew the temperature of I got reasonable reading with this temp gun so it seems to be accurate. The quality...

AnnaCAnnaC: I used this temp gun to verify the temperature of the basking spot in my leopard gecko's tank. Since this temp gun says it's accurate to 2 degrees both ways, this was supposed to be accurate enough. And it was. In the picture, you can see I compared the reading from this one against my old one, a cheap $20 one. While the cheap one was all over the place, reading 90* one minute and 80* the next, this temp gun was very consistent, and accurate. The only problem was that the manual doesn't give instructions for changing the emissivity, and I had to contact to company. They were great and told me exactly how to change it. Simply press "mode" until the screen reads "ems". Then hit up or down to adjust.

Not only did it do it's job well, but it also has a few cool, extra features like high/low alarms, average temp, high/low temps, and difference between high and low temps.

TLDR, This is a great temp gun, very accurate, and the price is unbeatable.

Detritus Effluvium: This device does a good job and is easy to use. Comparing it to thermocouple readings, it's accuracy is
+/- 5%. The only thing I don't like about it is the completely unnecessary and annoying beeper. I managed to get the case open and clipped it out, so a job well done there.

I used to operate a lab-grade infra-red microscope with a fixed emissivity of 1.0 at a dedicated wavelength. It needed to be cooled with liquid Nitrogen to get readings at room temperature so seeing something this inexpensive do the same job is amazing to me. To get really good readings, you need to be able to use the emmisivity setting or at least understand what it does.

If you want to see what temperature your oven is really at, put in something like a cast iron skillet and let it stabilize for 30 minutes. Focus the laser beams on the skillet and you'll have a pretty accurate temperature reading. You may be surprised how inaccurate most ovens are. Set at 350 degrees F, my oven was actually 330 F, which explained why cake mixes took longer than normal. At a setting of 450 F, my oven was actually at 450 F, so the error can be non-linear.
