Dakota rooksDakota rooks: I purchased the Ibbq-4t thermometer to compare next to my Meater block and Bluetooth thermpro.

Initial unboxing of the Inkbird seemed like a real nice thermometer and comparable to others that are even higher priced. It’s magnetic to attach to any metal service. Temp probes are nicely cooled.

First I tested the probes to make sure they were reading correctly. For the test i used a full glass of ice water and all 4 read 32 degrees. Upon my first cook (smoked tri tip then reverse seared) I used all 4 probes for testing purposes. When inserted on the smoker all probes read within 2 degrees of each other which was probably just placement. Through the cook to get it to 120 all probes read within 4 degrees of each other.

At 120 I pulled to reverse seat on my Weber propane grill and this is where it got weird. Ok the reverse sear 1 probe didn’t change temp at all reading 118. 1 probe read 152 the other 2 were somewhere in the middle. The tri tip with spot checked with a temp pen and was at 130-135 depending on spot that was checked when it was pulled to rest.

After the first use I checked the probes in ice water again especially because of the reverse sear...

John McGowan: Nice to be able to monitor my grill and meat temps remotely, from anywhere. Easy to use, seems pretty accurate. Silicone covers on the probes are a nice touch so you can handle them hot. My only suggestion for improvement would be to put in a bigger battery and make it so it doesn't drain so much when not in use. If you leave it fully charged but don't use it for a week or 2, you'll need to charge it up again before use. Good product though. Happy with my purchase.

Julie Watchorn: I would have liked to see a laser dot so I know what I’m pointing at
I use this temp gun to check haying equipment bearings so we can tell if they are hot before we have a fire! Works exactly as needed 😊

Great: When I received this item, I plugged in all the probes to make sure it was working and then sat there with it on the side of the couch while the battery charged. I notice two probes reading higher than the others which was weird because they all had their rubber protectors still on, then I realised the two were touching my leg. All of that to show how sensitive and accurate these probes are. Haven’t used it in the smoker yet but definitely looking forward to it

LovemesomeAmazon: I purchased this product with the intent to use it to monitor the internal temp of my new smoker BBQ as well as the food cooked in it. It arrived the day before we do our Cdn Thanksgiving turkey so I took it for a test drive with our turkey in a standard oven which forms the basis of my initial review.

Before doing so, I tested the accuracy of the unit by comparing various Inkbird reads to those of an instant-read Thermapen and to my joy, they were either spot-on or 1 degree different at most. Accuracy is a biggie and when researching my ultimate pick, I read reviews of other similar products being off by up to 10 degrees if the posters were to be believed. So kudos to Inkbird.

The unit comes with 3 food probes and one oven probe. I didn't realize how essential the oven probe was until using it. You set the low and high ranges and the unit will beep if either temp is reached. I had to think about this one at first on my turkey because this high low, IMO, is likely designed for smoker BBQs so you can see if your coal temp gets too hot or reduces to the stage you need to top up the coals for longer cooking situations like multi-hour brisket projects.

S in CS in C: InkBird review
Introduction- I really love this InkBird 150ft Bluetooth Grill Thermometer IBT-6XS. I’m excited to give you some honest feedback on it, but first off, let me start out by giving you just a little bit of background on myself. I’ve been grilling and making BBQ for the past 10- 12 years, and I take it pretty seriously. I usually cook out at least 3-4 times a week. I routinely cook for my extended family and larger groups of people (20-50 people or so). I’ve been doing this for quite a while and I’ve become very picky about the products that I use. I cook almost exclusively with charcoal and live fire. If you’ve been cooking for very long, you probably already know the importance of accurately monitoring the temps of both your cooking chamber and the temps of the meat you’re preparing. Virtually every stock thermometer that comes with a grill or smoker is inaccurate. Even if it’s accurate initially, they will fail over time. It’s virtually guaranteed. Monitoring cooker temps is important, but monitoring temps of the meat you’re cooking is even more important. It really comes down to safety and making sure that the food you’re preparing has been...

Johnny: I first discovered Inkbird two years ago. They were then virtually unknown in the BBQ world but have since built quite a following with pros and serious backyard warriors alike. Why? Serious BBQ folks had all but given up on unreliable Bluetooth to monitor our cooking temps. Inkbird restored the faith with rock solid all night reliability, and tremendous range. No more dropouts, and no fears that hundred dollar briskets might get ruined with an unexpected grill glitch that a reliable thermometer will alert you to.

When I first reviewed this model’s predecessor, IBT-6X in 2017, I enthusiastically described it as the best Bluetooth remote thermometer on the market. Fortunately, this six-probe capable model IBT-6XS has now been upgraded with incremental and smart improvements. I continue to strongly recommend it. Let’s discuss what’s changed, and what has not, compared with the original Inkbird IBT-6X:

UPGRADES TO THIS NEW MODEL:

INLCUDED RECHARGEABLE BATTERY / The original burned through mucho AAA batteries. I was OK with that because even with a 23 hour pulled pork low ‘n slow cook, they’d last just long enough. The new IBT-6XS ditches the AAAs for a...
