It has the heaviness, backbone and power to take on any task requiring an impact wrench. On a cautious note make sure you loosen rusty nuts or bolts before using this impact wrench because if a nut or bolt is rust welded this tool will snap them off in a heart beat.

pragprag: Sturdy, good customer support. Don't trust impact wrench labels on compressor or rely fully on compressor SCFM @90 psi rating. Don't be fooled by rating advertised by impact wrench manufacturers. Ingersoll Rand is the only company I found that provides full specs (see attached image). The average air consumption rating seen on all impact wrenches doesn't tell you what SFCM rate is needed for air consumption under load. For example, if it says 4.5 SCFM @90 psi on the box, it will take 4-5 times that rate even if you are only using the tool for short bursts.

The SCFH load @90 psi for this tool is 22 SCFM. IR tells me that the torque available at the wrench will drop some 14% for every 10 psi drop in pressure.

Minimum hose size can be misleading too. For example, I tried my existing 3/8-in hose with 1/4-in connections, but would immediately loose some 45 psi (regulator to tool inlet) as soon as I pressed the trigger on the wrench. Charles Lattin: Ordered this because I had a bunch of work that I wanted to do on my two vehicles. This work included brakes all the way around along with overhauling all of the front suspension and steering components. I'm going to give my review based on what I think the average "shade tree mechanic"/ home DIY auto enthusiast will need in a tool SYSTEM (including compressor and air hose, fittings, etc) , and what this tool does and does not provide.

1. This tool came in just a cardboard box that was poorly sealed, and had an instruction booklet that was about 30 pages (in as many languages). There were no instruction for use whatsoever. This isn't a big issue, especially if like me, you're familiar with air tools and have experience with them, but even a quick quide of some sorts could be useful to some folks. You can find instructions online lumped in with the other tools in the IR 230 series, but they are still generic and not very useful. You will need to supply your own air fitting-I recommend you get the Milton high-flow kit for about $20. This really helps flow rates from compressor all the way to the tool.
