Jamie F.: This is a wonderfully bright and light collar "charm" I wanted to use the light as a beacon on my dog's harness. However, the light is quite directional. Very clear to see from a distance when viewed head-on, but as the angle changes, it almost disappears. I would love it if the "crystal" slightly diffused the light, so the viewing angle was better.

J. Weston: I have two black dogs and one of them, a border collie/lab mix, has recently discovered she can easily jump our fence. Most of our backyard is pitch black at night, so I want to be able to see where she is at all times (at least until we have a new fence installed). I really only needed one light for the fence-jumper, but I bought one for my other dog, too. The lights are bright enough that I can tell where they are in the yard and if the light gets a little too close to the fence, I call her away. The light is small and lightweight and is perfect for keeping on their collars all the time. To turn the light on, you turn the "jewel" clockwise about a quarter of a turn, and then counter-clockwise to turn it off. It takes a little bit of effort (but not too much), which is good because they can't accidentally turn it on/off just by bumping it on something. I haven't had any issues with them falling apart yet and the lights are still working, but I've only had them for a month. I'm really glad I bought these!

Ande: These are great for the pups. I use them on chihuahua she tends to take off like a nomad on our desert walks. Great for those dark night walks. Although this is 2nd one I bought. The first one broke off after 2-3 days, either by turning it off the wrong way or she caught it in something. Nothing left but the carabiner on her collar. It can be a little tight to twist, but it's a fabulous light(green paw print). I bought the pink jeweled one for my dachshund and it's just as bright. This one was easier to twist on/off and hopefully it will last longer than the other one. its been a week and seems solid.

K. Galloway: I will be the first to admit that this probably wasn't intended to be worn by a six foot (standing on her back paws), 80 pound "dogzilla". (or "destruco-dog" if you prefer.)
However, it matched her bubblegum pink "necklace" with the "charm" on it that reads "Daddy's Girl". And, my eyes aren't what they used to be so a light to help me spot where she got to in the dark (before she can rush out and knock me down trying to hide behind me when something makes a noise) was helpful.
However, by day two, there were some apparent problems.
First, the clasp isn't any kind of metal but friable plastic. By day ( or night) three, I'd had to replace it with a steel clamp.
Second, it operates with a simple twisting. However, there is absolutely nothing to keep it from twisting all the way off as the plastic threads get worn down. Not even a simple "child-proof" lip. And with my eyes not being what they once were, finding that tiny little battery is a pain in the watusi.
I won't tell anyone not to get it as for the price, it's all right. But, do expect to get what you pay for. Better construction would cost them more and so they would charge you more.

lacrandall: While I initially liked this product, it didn't take long for it to start malfunctioning. It appears that it cannot withstand being bounced around on a dog's collar. When my dog is running this light will back itself off of the full "on" position, and as a result becomes dim. Will contact the manufacturer for possible replacement.
Follow-up as of 7-25-14: I contacted the company and filed a warranty claim. They got back to me via email within 2 days. They sent me a new PetLit (plus a bonus item). Based on the look and feel of the new one it would appear I initially received a previous version. The replacement is sturdier and a little thicker. It has a much larger light area, and as a result throws out a much brighter amount of light. So far I am extremely pleased with this product, and this is why I now give it 5 stars. A side note: the replacement batteries are not generally available in brick and mortar stores. They are available here on Amazon at great prices, often with free shipping. Search for battery number CR927.

Adrian McMullan - Mountain Zoon: This light is not real big and maybe not as robust as some other pet lights, that is why I gave it four stars! It does light up well. Instead of sqeezing it to turn it on, one must rotate the light which is not real easy. That is good in that it does not come on by itself and waste the battery, but I do prefer the ones that squeeze to come on. It is attractive and is a good pet light for a smaller type dog if one walks in the dark. For my big dogs, I prefer something else.
