bacalhau75: The main reason i got this camera instead of the Ring camera was not to became another sheep like most Iphone users. There had to be something good if not better our there at a fraction of the cost. I saw some reviews on YouTube on this camera and figured for $50 I'd give it a try. The doorbell camera has been working non stop since I installed it at the end of December of 2020. It is now mid March 2021 and it continues to give me alerts and capture motion pictures and video. Installation was not hard, i did not have a hard wired door bell, so it took me a few hours to get that installed first and then the camera went on in minutes. I don't like battery operated devices since you have to deal with charging and missing events, so this hard wired camera is what i wanted.

So why 4 stars? Because i'm being honest. The camera itself is a 5 but i have issues with 2 things.
1 - During installation it asks to set my phone to have the screen always on "Always on Display (Samsung S8). The phone is 5 years old and if i set it to that setting the battery won't last half a day. But even when i set it to that, i don't recall the notifications or when someone rings the bell showing up...

Michael: This works great. For the price it is definitely worth buying.

The picture quality is clear and the night vision picture is fine.

When you use a video doorbell there are two ways that you use it.
1) As a doorbell. Someone rings it and you can see who they are and talk to them.

2) Remote monitoring: View what is happening now or viewing previous (saved) events.

This does a great job of both and is well worth the price. If you want this as a doorbell this is a 5 star purchase. Even for remote monitoring it is worth the price. However, it is not as full featured as the doorbells that cost $100 to $200 more. For example it doesn't have "human detection".

I would have still given it five stars based on that. I wouldn't expect all of the same features for this much less. I deducted one star for the documentation. It is easy enough to use and hook up that the documentation shortfall is not a problem for the basics.

However, it has all kinds of extra features like do not disturb schedules, stored playback of history etcetera that are not documented at all. You are left with trial and error to figure them out.
