Alman: Super long battery life. Previous unit with same 6 volt battery type but Incandescent light heads would have a battery life of 30 min.-not very helpful for an extended power outage. Note not rated by CSA or UL so probably can not be used in a public building.

Freddie Z: I've bought three of these. The first one I bought it from Home Depot and it's been working great since. So I bought a set of two from Amazon. They worked great at the start but now both have dim lights. They are no longer bright. Not sure if it's the battery or just the LEDs. Amazon return date has expired and shipping back to the company would probably be more expensive than buying new ones. Not happy.

bill: This unit should be fine for its purpose during a power failure. It's advertised to have a night light feature but it's too bright for use in a bedroom. As an emergency light that automatically comes on when the power fails meets expectation and we are satisfied.

Robert Smith: This is truly an amazing light for power outages and emergencies. I did a considerable amount of research prior to purchasing this light. This light is by far the longest lasting light available that I could find. 95% of lights that I've seen for emergencies last at best a couple of hours during a power outage. This light will last a full 40 hours with one light lit, or if you choose to have both lights lit it will last 20 hours. That is an incredible amount of time. My power does not go out very often, although there have been times when it has gone out up to 4 to 5 days. It is very reassuring to know that a light will last this long. There is a newer Ideal Security model available, it is said to be brighter, although the length of time it lasts during an outage is considerably less. This light is quite bright, more than sufficient enough to see around the areas in your dark house where you are walking. I would much prefer a light like this one that is not quite as bright, and will last up to 40 hours, versus a brighter light that will be dead in a couple of hours during a power outage. Genna Ross: First lets get the CONS out of the way.
The lights are listed as having 6 LED's in each (12 total) , but there are only 5 per head.
Okay,... that's it. for the CONS.

The light was well packaged, and while the battery was initially dead on delivery, after charging for a day, and testing it in a dark room, all I can say its the light output is far better than I expected.
However I still will have to wait for a full charge (72 hours recommended) before I can comment on battery life per charge.
The unit is plastic, but seems well made, the heads are easily positioned and have tightening adjustments if needed.
A bit lacking as far as the instructions, but they are not that difficult to figure out.
The night-light function seems to run the lights at a lower level than power-out mode, though not really sure if I will ever use the night-light feature.
But it's easily disabled by a switch.

The back of the unit offers several mounting options including direct mounting over a junction box, but not really sure how that would work as the power connector is on the side of the case , and might require some modification inside the unit.
