BSmith: Seems like a very nice bike, but the size chart is wrong. My 48" tall child is way to small, and my 52" tall son is still to small for it. Fix the sizing chart and this would be a completely different review.

Assembly, not bad but didn't come with the tool to move the shifter from its shipping location.

M. Pritchard: I found it relatively easy to put together. Only real issue for me was the one break line didn't come attached to the handle/pull lever and was a little difficult to figure out, especially since it's not in the instructions... but, I still had it assembled and adjusted in about 30 minutes... not sure how/why it took others an hour or 2. Box was pretty beat up when it arrived, but the bike was in good condition.

Again, looks great, seems well built, and my 8 year old loves it.

Martin Navarrete: I bought this bike for my 8yr old son. His first time on a bike without training wheels and he was able to get going on his own without my help within an hour. It's pretty heavy, which makes it feel sturdy and well made. It was easy to assemble. It only took me about 15 minutes to put together. The only issue I came across was that the front wheel came slightly bent. So when I installed it the front brake rubbed on it and didn't allow it to spin as freely as it should. I was able to make some adjustments to get it to rub less and spin better. So far so good and my son loves riding it. Goal achieved. Now he asks to go outside to ride every day.

D. StringerD. Stringer: I bought this for my 8 year old son. I ordered it from Amazon at a good price. Not from a third-party seller. The box arrived in perfect condition, and the bike had no damage or scratches of any kind.

It arrived mostly assembled. The remaining assembly was easy. Only the brake and derailleur adjustments are somewhat tricky. The manual for the bike had poor or inaccurate instructions on how to adjust the rear derailleur. I'm not sure why it instructs you to loosen the cable clamp nut when adjusting the low side. When doing so, it would allow the derailleur to shift away from the wheel making it impossible to adjust the low setting of the derailleur. After struggling with this, I looked up a YouTube video on adjusting the derailleur. After this bit of independent research, the adjustment was smooth and easy. Just don't loosen the cable clamp nut before setting the low adjusting screw. The bike now shifts smoothly and quickly through all gears.

Last comment. I also bought a similar bike pre-assembled from Wal-Mart around the same time. The pre-assembled bike had the front wheel on backwards and still needed the brake and derailleur adjustments. Basically, even though...

Amazon Customer: This Huffy Valcon 20" 6 speed bike is a Christmas present so I can't speak on how well my 9yr old son rides it. He's small for his age but I feel this bike will fit him perfectly. At the lowest seat level, the seat is 27 inches from the ground. I have the handlebars at 33 inches but they can go lower or slightly higher. It seems like a well made, sturdy bike. The graphics look great. Very easy to assemble. Only took me (a woman) about 40 minutes start to finish. You only have to attach the pedals, seat, handlebars & front wheel and all the tools where in the package except a phillips screwdriver. Out of the package, the front brake pads were vertical. I just loosened them and adjusted them horizontally and they work great. Just inflated the tires and we're good to go. I would recommend this bike to friends and family.
