Eric F.Eric F.: The before/after pictures show how this worked on one removable shelf in a used mahogany cabinet. Note that water spots may fill in darker than the surrounding wood, but still a big improvement. If you have white heat marks, the clear finish has to be removed, but I did find it worked well to abrade those with a green scotch brite pad wetted with this product. Smell was reasonable, but ventilation is recommended. Wear gloves. Overall, it is worthwhile for a project that is simply not worth the effort to fully strip and refinish. If you need the best quality result, strip it.

David: Headline says it all.
For anything other than light marks you will need to use 000 wire wool, but then water marks are diminished to the point where they are still visible, but only if you know they are there.
However it didn't touch the black rings and if you re-wax too soon you will undo your hard work.
Overall, glad I purchased this. It's made a massive improvement to the appearance of my cabinet.

rocky mt lady: My cherry/mahogany coffee table was looking beat up and shabby. A friend recommended this as being super easy. I prepped the table, did the steel wool application. Went on smooth, improved the looks of the piece a lot. Not sure if it will last. Some suggest that it will have to be repeated to keep it up. But now it looks way better w/o having to do sanding, staining, and sealing...That was the draw for me. Result are better than old english scratch cover but not as good as doing the real work and taking it down to raw and doing it with all the proper steps

J. MintonJ. Minton: I'll be honest, I didn't have high hopes for this product given I was using it on a 40 year old boat that had sat neglected for almost a decade. It's not a miracle cure for old, dried out wood, but it did make a huge difference. The pictures don't do it justice. The wood was sun bleached and spotty, my camera didn't pick up well, but after treating it you'd never know. It really evened out the color so it doesn't look ancient anymore. Water marks are also completely gone or covered enough that you have to get real close to notice.
However, this stuff stains fabic like crazy, as you can see by the picture where the cushion is removed. Thankfully I'd already moved it so it didn't get ruined but I'll never get that out of the underlining.
I also used Howard's Sunshield after it was dry which is where the real improvement came in. So I highly recommend using some kind of protection over the wood when you're done.
A couple tips. Absolutely wear gloves, you will get stained hands otherwise. Do use steel wool if the wood is a little rough, a rag is good enough otherwise. I used 0000 and that was sufficient for my purposes, but some areas would have benefited more...
