Craig Devine: I bought and installed one of these in my Ridgid 12 gallon shop vac. I think I used the vac twice in 3 months. The filter fell apart under its own weight. When mounted inside the vacuum, the bottom rubber/plastic endcap (the end that is held up by the threaded rod) that holds the filter up isn't rigid enough to support the weight of the paper filter. It drooped down (like an open umbrella) and the paper element detached from both the top and bottom endcaps. I ordered a genuine Ridgid brand VF4000 filter and the bottom end cap is much more rigid. This is one of those items I'm putting in the "spend the extra $5 and get the good one" category.
Follow up: Upgraded from 2 to 4 stars. After my initial review above, the seller contacted me and offered a full refund, which I accepted. I guess you cannot expect any better customer service than that.
