Welsh Witch: The beautiful photos, straightforward recipes and useful info, make this one American vegan cookbook that I can use with confidence. Many really good recipes and the sauces are far simpler than others I've seen or have in books already. Excellent value. :-)

A. Gastelum-Kaufman: I LOVE this cookbook so much. I’ve been watching Hot for Food’s YouTube channel for years and have been cooking from this cookbook ever since it came out. It is one of my main go-to cookbooks in my extensive collection and I’m not even vegan. Although, I do try to eat vegan and live a more plant-based lifestyle.
There are so many great options in this cookbook and it isn’t just a bunch of smoothies or buddha bowl recipes like other vegan cookbooks.
As the title states, these are “comfort classics“ so there are quite a few recipes for fried food, but Lauren does offer some baking alternatives if you don’t want to deal with all the burning oil.
My favorite recipes are baked bean tostadas, Herb-loaded sausage rolls, spicy black bean taquitos, lemony Parm green beans, real wonton soup, the Seitan recipes (All of them!), Buffalo cauliflower sandwich, creamy rose penne, green pea pesto, waffle-topped cottage pie, Enchiladas Verde, cinnamon rolls, baked blueberry cheesecake, the nacho sauce(!!!), and all the dressing recipes. Honestly, I really wasn’t a fan of seitan until I made her recipe and now making her Gyro wrap with the dressing gives me life! Go make it...

Neko.ta.ta: I love hot for food on YouTube and this book is a collection of some of the best recipes from Lauren. I have tried many of them. Only downside is not having the American cup measurements as I have had to add a lot more flour than the recipe suggests for the biscuits (scones) I have made them so much in my past that I know the right consistency so I keep adding flour until it forms a dough, however others may not know how to do this (beginners). I think the conversion is wrong. My only downside, but not going to reduce the review stars because the books brilliant all the recipes are tasty.

Lauren Toyota ist die "Queen" des veganen Comfort Food. Mit ihrem YouTube-Kanal und Blog erreicht und inspiriert sie Hunderttausende.
Die meisten Rezepte im Buch sind aufwändig und fern ab von gesundem Essen, aber wirklich alle Gerichte schmecken außergewöhnlich gut.
Nehmt euch die Zeit und kocht unbedingt die Rezepte nach. Meine Favoriten sind aktuell:
Tofu Benny, Bacon Mac'n'Cheese Skillet, Best Vegan Ramen, Orange Tofu and Veggie Fried Rice sowie Apple Fritters.

Amazon Customer: I love the Hot for Food youtube channel and overall I am happy with this book, although there have been a few things that just weren't for me. Lauren is an amazing cook so I'm confident that there will be more winners amongst some of the recipes I have yet to try.
So far I've made:
Lemony parm green beans - Solid veggie side.
Mushroom and herb toast - Yum, even though I didn't buy the fancy mushrooms :P
Gooey French Onion Soup - Good!
Cream of Broccoli Soup - Ok, but nothing special.
Curried Butternut Squash Soup - Good, but I think I'm a thick coconut curry over rice rather than a coconut curry soup person.
Comforting Lasagna Soup - Love lasagna, but I didn't like this. Something about the flavors wasn't right to me, but maybe I messed up?
Oyster Mushroom Po'boy - YUMMO! Loved this!
Saved by Seitan - I need to work on my seitan making technique I think, but this recipe had good flavor.
Philly Cheesesteak - Lauren's version uses her nacho cheese, which I love to eat with chips , but for some reason I just don't think it works for a philly.
Bacon Mac&Cheese Skillet - This was good, but not quite what I was expecting. I've tried other...

Kimberly J: This has quickly become one of my favorite vegan cookbooks. What I like about it is simple: Everything I have made out of it tastes great! There were a few recipes I tried that I wasn't sure about and they ended up knocking our socks off (like the brussel sprout ceasar, greek potato salad, sweet potato gnocci). I read some of the reviews that were less than 5 star on this book because I was curious why people wouldn't love it-- and I understand where they are coming from-- so let me lay out a couple reasons you might not like this book:
1) Yes a lot of the recipes are multi-step or take a while. Not too many 30 min recipes. However I think that is why the recipes taste so good.
2) The health factor-- it's a vegan cook book called "comfort classics." If you are looking for super healthy, no oil, etc. then this is probably not the cookbook for you, however I do find most of the recipes generally healthy. I don't cook out of this cookbook everyday (see #1), but as I mentioned I've been so happy with everything I had made from this book.

Maika Wagner: I've been following Lauren for over two years now (I know a lot of people have been following her for much longer) and I always love her videos and recipes. Although many of them are too fatty for me to make them on a regular basis, there are some great treats in here, super comfort food and awesome pictures. Lauren also knows how to use spices to really make something special. Also now I won't have to look up the Pizza crust online every time I make pizza (today for instance). I also love having the sauces in there and I've spied a couple of recipes I will have to try out soon.
I bought this book mainly to support Lauren, because I am in a similar situation as her, building a business, and I would dearly appreciate anyone who helped me out. So this is me doing my little bit for her, apart from watching her videos! Keep going, Lauren!

Suzanne: I love reviewing the stuff I buy from Amazon but I don't often do the books I read but this is one everyone should have or even better check out the Hot for Food youtube channel. Lauren Toyota isn't a rabid Vegan calling out meat eaters, she's just chosen this way of life for herself and if by her cooking she can change the way people look at veganism then I think she will be more than happy.
Not only am I not vegan I'm not even vegetarian but her way of cooking with basic ingredients makes them look so flavoursom.. Apart from the use of nuts to make creams and "nooch" aka nutritional yeast all of her ingredients are what any decent pantry should have in any case and if you wish then instead of using "vegan butter" or "vegan cheese" you can just replace them with what you would prefer.
I'm never going to stop eating meat but meat doesn't always make for a great meal and when you see all of the recipes in this book even meat eaters will be happy to give it a miss. But if you want to get an idea of her cooking then again check out her "Hot for Food" youtube channel.
