This clamp was cheaper and able to hold larger pieces of lumber together than two Dewalt ones I also purchased for my project. I'd definitely consider other products from this brand.
The small part of my clamp came loose but it was really easy to re-tighten, so it wasn't even worth making a fuss over.

There is a design problem with this product. I know exactly why the fault is there. It turns out that the vertical clamp surfaces are not square to the base. So that when the two pieces of material are brought together they are at an angle and you cannot achieve a good square joint. The jaws surface should have been machined after casting. This was simply a cost cutting exercise which makes the device less useful. I will have to fix them by attaching some packing material to the faces so to achieve a square contact.
I do not recommend this item to anyone.

Handy little vise. Maybe not as sturdy as I would have liked, but you gain the flexibility of being able to set together two different size pieces with this tool. All in all, a worthwhile investment in your shop's tool selection.
