Cheryl: I am so happy with this purchase. A bit pricey but you get what you pay for. The candle flame moves making it look so realistic! I have not used the timer nor purchased remote. When needed just switch on.

brian p.: I bought 5 of these less than a month ago for a 5 candle candelabra. Installed brand new alkaline batteries. 2 of the candles no longer light up. The artificial flame moves around but no light is emitted. I tossed the boxes and doubt that I can return them. Total waste of money!
Edit: Manufacturer has been very responsive and says they will replace the 2 that stopped performing at no cost and I don't need to return the 2 bad ones. I will update the star rating when I receive them.
2nd Update: Received replacement candles as promised. Each candle requires 3 batteries. I'm thinking that my issue was battery life. I only had them for about 3 weeks when they stopped functioning. They were on the "auto" mode which runs them from 6pm-midnight. So, I recommend not using that mode unless you're prepared to replace 3 batteries/candle every 3 weeks or so. I have 5 candles so that would amount to 260 batteries/year...that's a lot of batteries, $ and environmental concern.
Now, I simply turn them to "on" when I am expecting evening guest(s).
