Homax Professional Grade Caulk Finishing Tool for Perfect Beads

FloodRunner: Admittedly I'm about the worlds worst caulker, partially because I'm a carpenter not a painter and just don't enjoy doing it. But when the need arrises it's nice to have a tool like this to help tidy up the mess I usually make. As expected, cleanup ease or difficulty will vary greatly with the type of caulk being applied. Paintable, water cleanup caulk is a breeze whereas a calk like Log Builder and the higher quality OSI caulks need to be cleaned off immediately or you might as well throw the tool away. Worth having in my caulk bag.

Revinit: For years put on the latex gloves and smoothed the caulk by hand. This gadget is super great. I thought it would be stiff plastic like mud spreaders but it is rubbery soft. Bends wonderfully to the contour of whatever is being caulked. If I could give this more stars I would. Highly recommend and will be buying another one. :)

Jensevens777: I am remodeling my entire bathroom, I am a single mom and Ive never used caulking before.. but Im telling you, I feel like a carpenter tonight! It doesnt matter how messy I put the caulking line, I can even add more at any point and go back and fix gaps, this tool just cleans it right up and makes the sides so clean and the line so straight and even. The sides are rubber so its scrapes it all clean as it goes. How the heck did anyone ever go without a tool like this in the past?!? ill post a photo of the room when I am done but Im even having so much fun! I dreaded this and because of this little thing everything is a-ok now 👍🏼

joel: I found that the design caused the excess caulking the spread outwards along the tool, leaving very large smearing. This product is fine for small caulking jobs, with very little bead, but for larger fills, the over smearing ruined it. Using your finger is way better, and free. If your having trouble with your finger, just YouTube a tutorial. Your wife may thank you as well for the extra finger skills.

Book Lover: and something I will never, ever do again. There's nothing about tile work that I find remotely satisfying.
I have a large walk-in tiled shower and it was being used exclusively by my sister and brother-in-law for the last 4 years because they were living with me. As it turned out, dear sister didn't think scrubbing the shower was needed for the last 4 years! They just moved out and when I saw my MOLDY shower, I couldn't believe my eyes. I sprayed it with bleach for 2 weeks and that didn't touch it. I tried scrubbing to no avail... Enter Homax.

It took me a week to scrape caulk and grind out a section of grout and was ready to finally redo the caulk. I prefer caulk in squeeze tubes, but couldn't find the gray color I needed, so I had to use a caulk gun...ugh. Hate caulk guns. Bought a new dripless caulk gun (fantastic invention and purchased here on Amazon) and this fantastic Homax tool and worked up the courage to do the caulking...after all the work to prep, I really didn't want to mess this up!
