They are very resistant to wear and feel good on my hands with one exception. They are very tight for being XL.
Hopefully they will stretch with more use.
I recommend these gloves.

Kindle Customer: While arc welding hot metal piece penetrated into the glove and stuck into my hand. It really hurt and left burn mark for couple of months. I don't know it was inevitable accident regardless of any brand gloves. However, after the accident, I hot reluctant to use this one and instead used my older dirty one until I finally threw this Hobart gloves to the trash bin and bought new one at Canadian tire.

SC-Surfer: Just got these today. I've got about 6 hrs of MIG time in them so far. I really like them. I've been using a pair of Cayman TIG gloves but they are just a little too thin for MIG, and I don't like using my stick gloves if I don't have to as there's no feel and it's hard to control the trigger on my MIG. These are a perfect compromise for what I'm doing. Nice comfortable interior, just enough heat protection, but still enough feel to work effectively.
Leather is pretty heavy so I expect them to last for awhile. I'll follow up with a review once I have more time in them.

* * * NOTE * * * These are NOT large gloves. They say XL on the packaging but they are NOT. I usually wear medium gloves and these fit me PERFECTLY. ORDER ACCORDINGLY.

Danielle Richardson: I would need a year to truly test these, but I have been buying welder's gloves for about 20 years and so far these seem far superior to any I have used previously. I am an old woman, and I don't think my hands are exceptionally large, but ALWAYS before I have had gloves with such short fingers that I was actually handicapped by not being able to cup my palm or curl my fingers properly. Just to put these on and feel that the fingers go all the way to my palm is wonderful. For those who complain that it's a very small XL, it probably is, but though they are a little wide, these work great for me.

DF: Very nice gloves and very well insulated on the inside to protect against high current welding. I used them with 1/16 flux core, spray mode, pulling about 130 amps and was very comfortable!

I'm giving 4.9 stars because, IMHO, they don't stand up as long against the rigors of welding as other gloves I've used, but the other gloves did not offer the same insulating value as these gloves.

My gloves were still usable after 1 year of use (I DO NOT pick up hot metal with these gloves or in anyway abuse them), but they are about at the point of needing to be replaced.

Overall, they are a great glove for the price, which is not bad for about a 1 to 1 and a half year life.

M. Landon: I bought these gloves to do basic oxy-acetylene welding and they have performed exceptionally. The stitching is much better then other welding gloves I have used and the built in heat shield on the back of the hand is a nice touch. These gloves are also remarkably tough and able to stand up to my run-ins with the wire wheel! The only small complaint I have is that they are stiffer and thicker then other gloves I have used and therefore it is harder to grasp thin objects, namely filler rod!

If you are looking for a glove to use for gas welding that will transition nicely to TIG welding in the future, these will suit you well!
