Adam R.: If you are looking to just buy a scooter and not tinker with it, you should factor in that the battery lasts Roughly 40minutes if you're lucky, and literally takes up to 12 hours to charge, realistically, this scooter is going to make you one small trip back and fourth to the store or something and not be ride-able again until you wake up the next day, so basically 1 ride per day, and that one ride has to be within 30 minutes max, or you'll be pushing it back the rest of the way... Which if you ask me, that really goes in the opposite direction of easy mid distance commuting, especially in the cold weather.

So five stars?

Yes, #1 Completely disregard a handful of warnings on the User Manuel if you've even read the darn thing before tearing it apart unlike like me...

#2 rip open the speed controller and bridge one connection to bypass the darn thing that prevents the motor from spinning on literally any Lithium battery pack.

Razor appears to have a flawless Legal/Engineering Team...

#3 Grab almost any Lithium battery pack and use common sense to tell if the power rating is going to destroy your 250w rated motor or make it slower...

I really like this scooter, especially for the price. I understand why some complain, but there are very good reasons why the manufacturer did what they did. Yes the batteries are very old school, and you cannot quickly change them on a ride. But those “quick insert” lithium bike batteries cost $350 to $1000 each. The batteries in this scooter cost less than $20 each (there are 2 of them). Scooter has big tires so I figured it might work on some dirt roads in the desert that the skinny tire scooters would not. But this scooter has no climbing ability so we will see if it works out. This scooter is small enough that it actually fits well in my small van RV where space is precious.

Pros
• Replacement batteries are very cheap to replace, less than $20 each.
• Quality seems very good, time will tell. I WILL keep this review updated.
• They claimed up to 40 minutes run time, I got 45 minutes…nice.
• Even though the throttle is on only, it is not that bad (not enough power to make much of a difference).
• Speed seems very adequate, (but I did not determine how fast the top speed...

Very sturdy. Tires came filled.

Built time
30 minutes. The manual didn't make it obvious which direction the seat goes. I looked at a picture online to figure that out. The rest was intuitive. Came with the necessary Allen wrench to connect the steering column. It did not come with a screw driver for installing the seat post.

Initial charge time
I rode it 1 minute, then charged it while installing the seat. The battery was charged before I figured that out, so it came charged I guess.

Ride Experience
The throttle needs work. It turns about 20 degrees before it tells the motor to run. After that, you can probably rotate another 5 degrees to feel like it is fully engaged. I can't rotate beyond the 25 degrees or so. It is easy to bump from accelerating to not accelerating which is more like automatic deceleration unless you are going downhill. So if you don't want to go full speed all the time (to conserve power), you have to go full speed 3/4 of the time and for the rest of the time use zero acceleration (which is really deceleration). Caitlin: Now that I've had the scooter for a couple of weeks, I feel it's a good time to write a review.

I'm in college. I'm 5'3" and weigh 118 pounds. This scooter is the perfect size for me. In fact, like another reviewer who is my height said, my feet almost don't touch the ground when I'm sitting on the seat. So please keep that in mind if you are thinking of purchasing this scooter for a child.

This scooter is powerful and fast. It easily makes it up average hills. It will not climb steep hills but you can help it along by kicking.

The battery lasts a long time for me. I haven't kept time, but I can make it around town and back and still have charge left. It's easy to combine coasting and power to make the battery last longer.

The handlebars don't adjust in height. It's a big scooter. It weighs 60 pounds. You will need to leave it outside when you reach your destination, so you'll need a good lock.

It needs to charge for at least 12 hours when the battery is low. Unfortunately, there is no battery indicator.
