KT GKT G: I like that it has an escape door. It is a good size, but larger cats will shake the house when bolting out of it. I bought for my indoor/outdoor siemese, but she refused to go in it. But a larger male feral cat has taken a liking to it. He won't go up on the second floor, but will eat and hang out on the bottom floor. I tried to fit his favorite cat bed, but it's too big. He only eats and cleans himself inside so far. The cat bed I leave on our enclosed porch, which he uses. This is a nice cat house, but if the doorways could be slightly wider and the house be a little bigger, it could accommodate any size cat. Works best for average size cats. My siemese is the one in the picture on top of the house.

Amazon Customer: Bought this house for a feral cat that has been sheltering beneath my deck furniture. Love that the house has two large doors providing better access for cleaning and hope having a second floor to escape to will make kitty feel safer. Assembly was fairly quick and easy although pre-drilled holes would have speeded things up a bit. Overall, it's sturdy, looks great, and will give kitty a warm and dry place to sleep.

I just bought and painted the house on the left a few months ago. My ferals love them. I put small bed or towel in them (catnip the 1st time) and the kitties love them.

AmaAma: This cat house is SO cute. It’s way more attractive than the plastic bins I set up for stray kitties. It almost looks like a dollhouse.

It is made from real cedar and smells strongly of it. If you are sensitive to smells or just don’t like cedar, I would put the bigger pieces outside for a day or two to air out. I love cedar so I was okay building it indoors the same day I got it.

Putting together the house itself took less than an hour. All you need is a screwdriver, everything lined up and went together easily.

I insulated mine with reflective insulation and foil tape, which took some time but wasn’t hard, and I’m not handy. I also carpeted the floors with removable carpet pieces and put a heating pad on the first floor. Talk about a deluxe suite!

The roof is definitely not weatherproof. I insulated mine and then caulked the areas where water could get through. The outside of the roof is tarred but it could potentially leak at the gaps where the pieces go together.
