Gail: We purchased this for my grandsons 11th birthday which came just in time to catch the super blue moon! This is a great beginner telescope. May take a little time to figure out the accessories, but within minutes the telescope and tripod were assembled, his iPad securely attached, and he was outside checking out the moon and stars. My daughter loved how everything fit nicely back into the light, portable bag and easily stored away for next time.

Zavala: My step dad bought it for my son who is a bit young. He is not able to set it up or "mess" with it but once you place the phone with the given app he was able to see the moon and stars. He was so happy.

James JacksonJames Jackson: I think this is a decent value for a beginner, I bought this knowing nothing about telescopes and not knowing what I could expect to see through this thing.
Now I know more, It is very easy to see Venus.
As with all beginner telescopes, it is actually little harder to use than a more intermediate level one. Because most children like looking at things more than looking for them. And with this telescope, far more time is spent hunting for objects than actually looking at them.My kid doesn't have the patience or attention span for that, but I rather enjoy the challenge, so I bought it. it was cool and the kid loved it. I consider it worth the effort.

Daydream BelieverDaydream Believer: Bought to use for the super moon at the end of August. Some assembly was required but no tools were needed. Everything is held together by a tension knob and once you decided on the tension you need for telescope position you want, you're pretty much good to go. This is my first telescope so I'll need some more practice finding stars and how to use the accessories which are great. But for what I bought it for (to see the super moon) it was perfect. And afterwards it all fit perfectly into the bag. A comet is supposed to be passing so we will be pulling it out again:))
Sorry my picture is a bit blurry bc I was more worried about not blinding my daughter with the flash than getting the telescope or the moon.

Amazon Customer: As grandparents, we purchased this telescope for its ease of use and the fact that it is easily transported. We are using it with our grandchildren ages 4 & 6 on camping trips away from city lights. They were thrilled to see the moon and we were thrilled with their reaction! We are beginners with using telescopes and so, for us this was a good investment.
