kali Albert: I've been using this daily and my cat likes it, he didn't like being brushed before but I think he likes it because it's really helping, after grooming and daily use of this whenever he comes inside we haven't had any problems with fleas, but before that the summer hatching was really giving us trouble since we are in a warm location.

My cat doesn't have fleas, but this comb is a useful tool to inspect whether there is any insecty debris in her hair.

We've had a minor carpet beetle problem and this tool was pretty helpful. It helped me figure out that the areas where she spent time were probably infested. It also showed that she herself wasn't being bitten. She had a terrible flea problem a couple years ago so this tool helped determine that this wasn't recurring. 5 stars for serving its purpose.

That being said 1 or 2 of the teeth on this tool began to bend after a month or two. That is really unsafe as that means there are sharp wire edges poking out. I realized after a couple days that I can yank the teeth out with a pair of pliers. So that's what I had to do. It seems I can continue safely using this tool, but I'm not convinced of its longevity.

Greta: My 14 year old Pembroke Welsh red haired Corgi got fleas for the first time. These fleas were tiny fleas like I have never ever seen before. I ordered this particular fine and long tooth metal flea comb thinking it would comb easily through my little Corgi's hair and that this would easily help get rid of the fleas. Please note that I had for several years been combing my dog every night with a fine toothed plastic human hair comb. Even though this Herzko comb is well made I found it difficult to get the comb to comb through that very thick coarse Corgi hair. But, I also found that the more I used the comb, the easier it got to comb with it. So, Yes, it is a well made comb and it works. I do think that if the comb were bit longer in length say about three or four inches that it would be easier hold and to use. I found the length of the teeth of the comb perfect. I will continue using this comb every night when brushing and combing my dog even after I know that the fleas are completely gone. With the nightly brushing and combing of my dog for these 13 years I have had her, (she is a rescue baby) she has a beautiful coat. Using this fine toothed Hertzko metal comb makes her coat...

Sunriser: As far as flea combs go this is a reasonable product. I think it is too expensive. That opinion is based on the fact that although its reach is deeper than the usual combs it still leaves the problem of popping the fleas out and getting them drowned or squashed with a finger nail. For a long haired dog or cat it is ideal.
