jrr8: I've been trying for a few years to buy a strainer that is both easy to clean AND fits neatly with few gaps in the drain AND which doesn't shift out of place any time you dump lots of water in the sink.

This is the first that hits all points perfectly.

I'm even going to buy a second set as a spare for a few years from now since you know how everyone likes to change valued products. Plus, though it appears surprisingly solidly made, I don't know how long it will last at the moment.

But for now, it works great and I'm very happy with it.

Amy in GA: I'm giving only 4 stars because I wish these were a little deeper, but they work SO much better than the mesh ones I've bought before. They are sturdy and don't allow food to slip into the drain. I do recommend cleaning the drain under them a couple times a week though, especially if you use them under a sink bucket.

Emily P: I've been looking for the type of sink strainer made with preforated metal sheet. Although this is not exactly what I'm looking for, this is close enough. First thing I notice is this strainer has a bit of weight to it. The weight made my tossing it into the sink kind of fun, it landed perfectly with a clang. Will update as I use more.

Edge (depending on your preference): This one has a finished edge but still kind of sharp. I prefer the thinner edge since it fits closer to the sink and reduces the chance of food slipping underneath. Despite the edge polished, this is the type that can still hurt you if you aren't careful. If you are looking for the rounded edges (the kind that's folded down or coiled underneath), this is not the type you're looking for.

Donate Life - Organ donation saved the life of my loved one!: Sturdy, smooth edges, filters well but also rinses off well too. Happy that food does not get stuck in this filter. The edges blend well with sink and food pieces go ito it well. I bought 2 different ones and the other one the filter mesh is hard to clean. The other one collects food along the outside edge. This one is way better and I am very pleased with it. Definitly recommend it!

Amazon Customer: After having a plumber clear up a back-up in our pipes and clean out our drains from residue that has built up over the years by the house's previous owner, I am determined to keep everything as clean as possible. I have used the mesh type of sink strainers, and they have two main problems: They slip around so much, and the narrow edges don't lay flat enough, that things like carrot peels and small food scraps get past them. Also, they are hard to empty. Things just plain stick to those screens. These strainers look great, stay in place, catch everything, and are very easy to empty. Love them!

Craig WillettCraig Willett: I have had this product for a few weeks now and it works great! The product is very sturdy, easy to clean and fits flush into my drain. Unlike the standard sink drain this one actually catches all the food debris and still drains the water. My son dumped his chicken with stars soup directly into the sink. To my surprise all the stars were caught and didn't cause the drain catch to clogg and fill the sink. The holes in the metal are big enough to not clog when the food is filling it. Highly recommend this product! Especially to parents whose kids do not understand cleaning their plate into the trash first.

seachange: I grant you that things are a little slow right now. But I assure you, though I was laughing at myself when I tried to think about what I would write about these, they are actually exciting! I am thrilled! I have been using the light weight screen strainers that are available at every hardware and grocery store. Those bend out of shape and stuff slides under them. They are better than nothing, but that is about it. I shopped a lot for a replacement and almost went with the soft rubber ones until I decided that they probably would become slimy pretty quickly and after turning them inside out I would still have to work to get them clean. These are amazing!!! They are so solid that nothing slips under! It is a delight to see bits of food dive right into the basket with nary an attempt to slide under the rim. They are solid enough to bang on the side of the trash bin to free whatever is in there. They are easy to clean. They are shiny, so they even look good. Hard to believe I would put a sink strainer in the “life changing” category, but these go there. Wonderful!
