Heavy-Duty Metal Wire Shelving Unit: Ideal for Home and Office Organization

David: I made 2 units from each. They went together fast ( I’ve put others together in the past). I assemble them lying down on the floor, shelves standing on edge, then slide the poles through the entire number of shelves. Then I add the spacers where I need the shelves to be. They are very sturdy. I added nice baskets to use for closet storage. Very happy with these. I’m over 80.

Kevin: I used one in a closet, and I liked it so much (organizing craft and homeschool supplies) that I came back for more. I have bigger ones in the garage, but these ones are just the right depth for closets and come up short enough not to compete with the hanging bar. I'm positive these will last forever, so they're my first choice for future organization needs. (Anyone else sick of wimpy plastic stuff needing replaced constantly?)

David D.: When I bought this item in September 2023, the shipping fee was equal to the retail price of the shelving. Seems like a stinky way to market a product. Still, it totaled less than identical items on Amazon.
It's a very sturdy shelf unit. I've got all four shelves loaded with mostly gallon jugs of pesticides, lawn chemicals, laundry detergents, and car stuff, etc. Really cleaned up the clutter in my back door hallway.
Still, I recommend you secure the top shelf to the wall with some small straps. (Aim for the wall studs.)

CG: Great shelving unit now that it is put together. Was kind of a hassle for me to do so. I wished I had a rubber mallet to begin the project to get all 4 legs the same height (you have to push the pieces in & I couldn’t get them to go in the same depth).

I was putting the unit in a room with carpet so it ended up not being important but if you are placing it on a floor make sure it is banged before building up.

Also. Take care not to pinch your fingers or thumb between the two plastic pieces that hold the bars together. I read that in a review before buying and thought I was being careful but ended up doing it anyway and I honestly thought 1) I would not get my finger out of there & 2) I was going to pass out from the pain & 3) they would have to amputate my finger

So, seriously, just push on those plastic pieces from the outside!

rmg: Very happy with this shelving unit. It was easy to assemble and as I was putting it together I could adjust the height between each shelf to suit my needs. Unit is very sturdy. One shelf had a slightly bent edge from shipping (although it was packed pretty well), but not a problem for me as it is minor and I just put that facing the wall. A decent price as well. Thinking about ordering another one when I finish organizing my space. I like this much better than the big plastic shelves that you see out there. Fast shipping too. A+ from me!

JudzM: This is perfect for what I need it for. Strong, looks great (black) and no bowing of any of the shelves. For my use, I have large heavy camera bags etc, so I like that the edge of the shelf hangs down and does not face upward. That makes it easy for me to slide items off and not getting caught on a lip. Recommend!

I opted to use 4 shelves and not all 6.

Using less shelves let me have TALLER spaces so I got some larger objects off the floor.

The vac and pressure washer you see on the top shelf are simply bungeed around the rack and can’t move at all.

The great thing is, you can wheel this easily (for my elderly father) out of the way to get to stuff behind it. The floor junk used to be like 10x10ft deep so you were playing Tetris to get stuff out.

The money saving part:

Since I only used 4 of the 6 shelves, I realized I could mount the remaining 2 to the wall (refer to pic, there’s the 2 extra racks above the small garage door ) . So instead of buying another garage storage shelf, or roof storage unit, I modified these. Comparible ceiling systems/racks are $150+ at stores, so I was really happy I kind of got twice the storage intended out of this shelf.

Lastly, it worked SO well, I don’t even need to buy two, because it handled everything. Otherwise I wouldn’t have hesitated to get another.

MeadBadger_DMeadBadger_D: We purchased for our terrarium setup. We have a few lizzards and a rabbit. The bars are the thicker ones, not the thin ones a lot of stuff is being replaced with. The shelves are a different story.

Now...weight. The terrarium on the top is about 70 lbs. The two on the middle weigh about 100 combined. This rack WILL NOT hold the weight that is advertised. In fact the wire bent during construction banging the shelves down with a rubber mallet....my two year old was swinging it helping assemble. I have 4 of these style racks in the garage and they hold each hundreds of pounds. The quality is definitely different.

That being said. I am not concerned the shelves will collapse/break or the unit will fall over. I also got this rack dirt cheap when the other racks this size go for more than double. You get what you pay for. It works for what we wanted....just don't buy for its ability to hold 600 lbs a shelf. (We have no casters on).
