Mike The Janitor: Over the course of a couple of months, I purchased three of these because of my ridiculously extensive DVD collection. I will say they are kind of a pain in the butt to put together. Not difficult, mind you. Just a pain. But once they are completed, they are very useful. At least for my needs, anyway.

I will mention this, it's been my experience with these shelves to lean them at a slight angle (leaning back against the wall) when on carpet. There are included mounting straps and a kit to adhere them to the wall. But I didn't want to drill into the walls of my rental apartment. So, I found leaning them back a smidge worked well. Just be aware that stability can be a factor depending on where you plan on placing these.

If you have small children or are accident prone, I would strongly advise utilizing the mounting hardware to screw the shelf to a wall or fixed structure. When one of these shelves is loaded with DVD's/Blu-rays or even CD's, they are very heavy. The first one I assembled and filled, fell on me as I was almost done putting my DVD collection on it. This is where my suggestion about leaning the shelf back when placing it on carpet is concerned.

PatseaPatsea: These shelves are great. Each shelf holds about 48 dvds. I was able to use 10 shelves on each unit.
Assembly was easy and quick once you get going. We used the straps that came with the unit but my husband wanted to use his own hardware and not the plastic ones that were packaged with the straps. You must use the straps or the unit will not be sturdy. They are very sturdy once strapped.
I'm very pleased with the product except for one issue; one of the boxes was beaten up pretty good and two of the shelves inside were bent. We didn't need all the shelves anyhow so it wasn't a big deal to us.

Mreuph: I'm not sure that you can find a shelf that will hold more in a smaller footprint than this, and at over 50% off it was a no brainer for me to try as I've been needing a place to stash my various bits of physical media.

The positives first:
-capacity - this thing swallowed up what I thought was a decently sized media collection with room to spare!
-Easy to assemble, if a bit wonky at times. As always, instructions could be a bit clearer but once you get a rhythm going it goes by fairly quick. The box is very heavy, except to want a friend to at least help move it around.
-So far seems really sturdy given the slim nature of the design. For those with kids, wall anchoring supplies are included.

The not as good...
-I simply can't get past the design of the shelves. each has a sizable gap in the wire running down the length. DVD/Blu-ray/Wii/Playstation/XBOX/CDs anything of that size fits fine. Notable exceptions: Cassette tapes, Nintendo Switch games, VHS tapes all DO NOT fit and will fall straight through the gap running down the length of each shelf as they are much more narrow than a CD/DVD etc. This issue is no where near bad enough for me to return, but...

AcesThoughts: Love the height, width, and purpose build usefulness of this shelf. I have about 900 cds in it. Its shallow at around 8 inches, so doesn't take up much space against the wall. I ordered the black color. There are some chips in the paint from shipping but wasn't too bad. I would put it together starting with the bottom half then adding the top half, versus the instructions which said to attach the long poles together first (which makes it a bit cumbersome to assemble with one person). Easy 15 minute assembly and 5 minute install into drywall for stability.

I've tried a lot of options to store and enjoy my cd collection. This is my favorite so far.

D. ClineD. Cline: Pay careful attention when you are assembling. I bought two and the second one was easier but I still made a mistake. The shelves are held in place by friction cones. Have a good look at each plastic cone to make sure it is correctly oriented (marked with an up arrow). Next you need to pay attention to the front/back orientation of each shelf. The back of the shelf has the "stopper" and it must be facing up. This orientation provides the back stop for the CD's. Pay attention to where your bottom shelf is on the legs. Do you want it as low as possible or a little higher for cleaning, Next grab a cd jewel case and one of the tallest cd boxes that you have. I have several cd's in boxed sets that are a little taller than the jewel case. Once you have determined your shelf spacing, the second shelf mounting bracket can be positioned on the closest indent to your desired vertical spacing. Make sure all four brackets are at the same height from the bottom shelf. I got into trouble by messing up on number two shelf and carried the error through to shelf six before I realized my mistake. This meant removing all the upper shelves to correct the spacing. The build quality was good. I had one...

Ariana E FortierAriana E Fortier: I have a massive DVD collection, but could never afford the expensive media units that would only hold about 500 movies. When I saw this pop up on my homepage for under $200, I read the mostly positive reviews and decided to order one and see how it worked out.

First Impressions:

-It's a bit tedious to put together at first and the instructions/diagrams aren't the clearest. The Hardware chart lists a piece labelled #2 (see attached photo), but I couldn't find them anywhere in the box. Turns out they arrive in the box ALREADY attached to the Base Rods, which makes me wonder why they are listed with all the other seperate parts. Figured I'd include it in here incase anyone else is confused when they go to put it together.

-It can be very awkward to try and hold the poles and slide the shelves on all by yourself the first time. If you have someone handy, it could help speed things up if they hold things in place.

-The instructions also say to attach the Base AND Top rods together right off the bat, which can be difficult for shorter people when you are trying to reach over your head to slide the shelves onto the poles while trying to balance and line the...
